Alongside the treatment I have also found your reaction and comments on the students to be very interesting - some of it mirrors aspects and of the days when FE students could get £30 provided that they had signed 'certificates' from the lecturers, as some thought just for 'turning up'. I was not the most popular in refusing to sign but never changed the decision so they knew that more had to be done rather than just turning up ... my pass rates were, thankfully, quite high. In terms of practical assessment external assessors were also told that they were expected to fail any who were not up to standard, 100% pass rate, just for the sake of it looking 'good', was unacceptable. 16

They are now OO board legs so there is some progress, albeit slow. Have now fed and watered beered and wined and all is well here in cloudy Sutton. Thanks Peter. I submitted by report to the board yesterday afternoon and we did get 93% genuine passes from those who submitted. I know that my marking's robust. I did have to increase someone's mark from 0.8 to 1.0 (of 100) just so the system didn't;t go into meltdown because it doesn't;t like marks less than 1% Thise who passed genuinely deserved to so do, whist those who failed demonstrated that they hadn't listened or read the book. 15

RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted June 19, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 19, 2019 Evening all. Talk of cake always sounds good. However I mentioned the Hoopoe that photobombed the sparrow photo the other day. I managed to get a reasonable close up of it on the shed roof yesterday morning. A very striking looking bird. We seem to have a breeding pair nesting close to us. Jamie 21

RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted June 19, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 19, 2019 Good evening everyone Once I’d made the cake and the curry sauce I decided to chance it and I put my wetsuit out on the line to dry, as the sun was out and the sky was blue, with the odd dark looking cloud dotted around. However, just before I started to cook the chicken to go in the curry sauce, I erred on the side the of caution and brought the wetsuit in, just in case as there were a lot dark clouds looming. But as it happened, I needn’t have bothered as it didn’t rain and I could have left it out for another couple of hours, but no hum. Ava, Evie and Max all enjoyed their tea and there wasn’t a bit left. I only made a small carrot cake, just enough for tonight’s tea and so didn’t expect there to be any to be left and I wasn’t disappointed. Max has recently taken up boxing, for some reason known only to himself he was in a mood today. He was in a right strop when we said he couldn’t change into his boxing clothes until AFTER he’d eaten his tea. He became quite rude and sulky, he got to within an inch or so of being put on the naughty step. But oddly enough, a few minutes later he was back to his normal self and you wouldn’t have known he’d been so belligerent. Ian picked him and Evie up just before 6:00 and took him to his boxing lesson. Ian and Evie were going to wait for Max in the reception area. Ava however, didn’t want to go and so stayed with us until Vickie got home, I then dropped Ava off at home. Then once again, peace reigned supreme at BSW towers. Goodnight all 17

pH
Weird weather around here today. Our son and family were going into the BC Interior for a work/holiday trip. They texted us a photo from the summit of the first pass they were crossing, at 4100 feet, of fresh snow on the ground. The TV weather forecast has just issued a warning of snow showers on the Trans-Canada highway further east. Then the wind started to get up here. It's quite unusual for us to get strong wind around our house - we're in a corner under a hill, and the weather comes from that direction. In the middle of the afternoon, our neighbours' 8 by 8 sun shelter appeared in our front yard, having made it over a 6 foot fence. The odd thunderstorm forecast for overnight.
Popular Post chrisf
Good morning one and all It was Area Group last night, involving a trying journey to a village near Dunstable Downs. I needed to call in at a supermarket to buy a packet of shortbread for tonight's LGBT group meeting. Too late, I remembered that 5.30 pm is the worst possible time to get through Bedford town centre and the south-western approaches. While I was at the supermarket I sought packets of instant whip, which I know is disgusting stuff but much less so than Angel Delight. Why don't you buy one of those nice home-baked pies that the WI sell, Chris? I would have done if their stall had been on the market yesterday as it should have been! Anyway, it took me just less than an hour and a half to reach my destination and 50 minutes to get home. The gathering was a cordial one, as is usually the case. Before I head across town for tonight's meeting, I should have a bit of time to carry on catching up with things after losing eight weeks of my life to the lurgi. One job that must not be delayed much longer is to round up the e-mail addresses of those on the Antipodean with whom I should like to keep in touch and send out "hello, remember me?" e-mails. If the weather is half decent I ought to revisit the jungle and carry on ripping out triffids, which will undoubtedly have proliferated since I harvested some - OK, nearly all - my strawberries last week. The dandelions and nettles which grow where the lawn should be will need mowing too. Once I have made an impression on all that I can return with a clear conscience to the bewildering issue of the cost of hotel rooms in Prague. Neil, others have said what you say about metformin. This is going to be sone admission but I do not know enough about the chemical warfare to which I am subjected to even contemplate arguing the toss with the GP, assuming of course that an audience with the GP were a realistic notion. I must admit that I would have expected to be seen sooner by whoever runs the diabetes clinic these days, given the length of time that has elapsed since my last blood test. You know what this means, don't you? I must be proactive! How that goes against the grain. Best wishes to all Chris 11 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted June 20, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 20, 2019 Morning all from an overcast village. Much runni g around yesterday and some results were obtained. Sister Drac's locum arfived and took Beth's sample. However silly me had lost my prescription so one of my visits was to get a replacement. In the afternoon I sorted out a physio appointment for Beth then got some modelling done. An evening watching the football match followed. I've to go back to the surgery this morning to pick up the prescription and have the blood test. Then after a video chat to Rachel and Emily the G word has been mentioned. Strimmi g is apparently required. Can I echo the comments made about John and Sandy. Inspirational is the word that comes to mind. Jamie
