Layout is set up ready for the morning at Railex. A different selection of trains for this show, I'll try to remember to get pictures in the morning before it gets too busy! It's looking very good :)

Look forward to seeing updated photos - with different trains!

Thanks, Pete.

Better late than never! 4 sets of container flats, 2 speed link freights of varying wagons (which kinda turned into 4 freights by the end of the show!) The 312 emu and class 86 and mk2 push-pull set.

The show went very well thank you, 2 new PB's for me; 4 and a half hours non-stop craning with 2x cranes Saturday afternoon, and a total cumulative time of 6 and and a half hours out of a 7 hour show day craning today :) totally worth it! DEMU at the end of the week ;)

Hello

Speaking on behalf of my little boy Dave, he certainly enjoyed his day playing with a proper grown-up Train set, so much more realistic than his own clockwork layout. Thanks from both of us for letting us play with Warren Lane, look forward to seeing you again next weekend.

                                                                                                                                             Cheers

Some nice pics there guys the new era suits the layout. The pair of class 37s reminds me of when they were regulars down at Southampton.

Cheers Peter.

Some cracking photos, as a GEML boy, you have captured it superbly well! Loving the 321 and DBSO.

Always good to see pairs of 37s on Freightliners.

As mentioned earlier by C6T, I do agree 309s and 312s next? A 308 in B&G would look great passing by!

It was good to see the layout for the first time at Railex at the weekend and have to say it is even better in the flesh. But i would like to know what you used for the cables that run across the catenery?

Terry

Hi Terry

Thanks for the nice comments.

The catenary and contact wire a .4mm nickel silver wire

Really enjoyed this layout at DEMU Burton on Trent on Saturday.

It was backdated to British Rail Railfreight Distribution era which made it even more special for me.

Special thanks to the lady operator who kindly mentioned about it at Ely a couple of weeks ago - also it was nice to reminisce about the "old home town"!

Great layout, and hope to see it again soon.

How have I managed to miss this topic for so long?

All I can say is wow! This is right up my street, in more ways than one- I've lived in Harwich for over 30 years (less my time in the forces) and I work on the Port of Felixstowe.

I think it's fair to say that half of my loco fleet would look right at home on your layout with the amount of 'local' Bachmann 37/0s and 47s that I have- (too many the wife would say! But I won't try to hijack your wonderful thread by posting pictures unless asked.)

I also 'play' within the Speedlink era, trying to replicate the trains of the late 80s and early 90s.

If I may, going back to your 40' reefer, we still get silver ones as well, so they're not all white! And your Can, 86213 The Lancashire Witch wasn't quite so common on the Norwich trains- I never saw it down here anyway! Although fear not, for should you require a change of motive power I have a pair of Heljan Cans that have received a lick of paint in the form of 86423 in old I/c and 86627 in RFD and they definitely did work in East Anglia!! ;-)

Please keep up the fantastic work, and I hope to see the layout 'in the flesh' soon.
