Labelle 102 gear oil for me.  It's a proper gear oil, with PTFE additive, plastic and nylon compatible and comes with a very fine applicator that helps prevent accidentally swamping the mechanism.  I've used it on all my locos for several decades and I know there are quite a few on RMweb here who, like me, swear by the stuff.

Another vote for Labelle products. They are not the cheapest, but are superb.

I've previously used a smidge of Vaseline on my Sentinel.

Cough.....ahem.........cough........

It works fine with no ill effects...

As the Opal Fruits jingle used to go - "Made to make your eyes water!".

I think....   :-)

Mine has been in storage for a little while, I've been reading the lubrication suggestions and making notes...

Help please:

I’ve just got one of these but am puzzling that the back-to-back may be odd ? I have reasonably fine but not ridiculous oo gauge track work, with hand built points and smp plain track. Hornby Peckett, Hattons  Barclay, Dapol b4 etc etc all fine without a murmur.

Y1 seems to struggle through crossings and derail round a curve / over a bridge almost like back to back too big?

any one with any suggestions ?

thanks in advance

Hi Dave.

Pretty certain the wheels are push fitted into each other on plastic  stubb axles. They could have been squeezed in a smidge. Perhaps the axes have been split?

Spares are available from here....
