Cheers Jim Hi Jim, I used to be a member of DEMU but let the subcription lapse, mainly due to a change in direction. I have an interest in the BR Blue period although my main interest is BR (W) 1955 to 65 period, so DEMU is no longer relavent. I guess for the small annual subscription it's worth joining to see if it suits you or not. As my signature shows I am currently am EMGS & MERG Member. I too let my subscription lapse as while I accepted DEMU needed to be less finescaley it went a bit too far towards the RTR side of the hobby to interest me. It seemed less about how good the modelling was and more about how much stuff you had. I was wondering if this is still the case or not. As I really feel modelling what I do I should support the society and to an extent I still do (I still offer a discount to DEMU members on some of my bits and bobs which comes from my own pocket!) I have had some PM's about one of the societies (not saying which one) and these back up the opinions I had already sought. Its probably best to PM me if your experience is not positive but positive responses are perhaps better on here. The thing is I dont know a lot about buses but I need to. Not so much the actual modelling of them as its just an object at the end of the day and I never model from models but things like whats available, and where to get it from. I guess what I am saying is for me (and please dont take it as arrogant) with regard to DEMU I would bring something to the society but with the MBF I would gain something from the society. For that reason I am veering towards the MBF at the moment but I dont just want to dismiss DEMU as I hope its moved on from when I was a member.
