Circle Street

I quite fancied a number of the dinosaur diesels being produced and with me running EWS stuff on a larger loft railway i needed somewere to operate them.

To run them and for me to keep an interest i decided to build a roundy roundy as opposed to an end to end.

With storage space an issue it was thought a simple circle of track with a siding would suffice.

The board is 36'' inches square and the track is all Hornby set track. The centre of the layout was built up using woodalong with 2 over bridges at each end to hide the circle plan and give a suburban feel to it.

There were concerns with the station being on a curve and after some thought i carried on with it, scratchbuilding a platform out of card.

Retaining walls are plasticard covered with scalescenes paper.

I have included some of the pictures from the original thread (which are missing)

The layout is a pleasure to operate and is often run whist doing other things. However the bright sun through the loft window has faded some of the scalescene walling and green scatter. I have been trying to correct it but other interests and working over time has prevented me from completing the layout. The last two pictures show its current state.

It is hoped to get it close finished over christmas.
