RMweb Premium M.I.B Posted November 26, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 26, 2010 I have some late Lima OO guage carriages with identical numbers on, and would like to remove the factory applied numbers. How do I take them off without having to go through a whole repaint procedure? Thanks.
wamwig
If they are printed on probably your best bet is nail varnish remover and a cotton bud, that usually works
Jon020
You might want to try T-cut. If it's a decal, apply gently with the end of a cocktail stick and let it soften... then rub gently and it'll come off. Make sure you clean it all off with water afterwards. If the number is painted on, then use the same method but with a little more pressure to lift the white ? painted number off. This will leave a slightly shiny (glossy) surface which is ideal for the new transfer that you'll apply afterwards. Recoating with a little varnish to seal it afterwards is the best plan.
