Covkid
Re the thread title - can I assume that there will not be any further batches of Class 70 locomotives? I wouldn't rule anything out in the industry today regarding traction, but with the majority of the green fleet parked up at Midland Road, Freightliner are unlikely to have any more
RMweb Premium jjb1970 Posted October 2, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 2, 2018 At some point we'll need a class 66 replacement but they should have a long life given the spares support EMD tend to offer.

The locomotive with its loud horn can be a long way away by the time you arrive at the crossing to find the back end of the train still passing. RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted February 20, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 20, 2019 A lot of US loco numbers have reflective tape round the edges of the numerals. They really do show up in poor light. I know that UP does this but can't be sure about other roads. Jamie

Jamie All North American locos and rolling stock have reflective tape and markings on them, which is mandated by the DoT to make them more visible at grade crossings. 1
