They would look good in GB livery!

GB did trial them a coulee of years back but nothing came of it, wonder if it will be any different now they are for sale

Didn't they buy the 60s instead?

You'd think somebody would be keen for them. One one hand I seem to find articles saying there isn't enough locos and then on the other people seem to be selling them all the time!

70801 was assembled in Turkey......

She’s affectionately known as ‘Donna’

all the buttons inside have Turkish writing on them with English stickers stuck over the top

i do miss 70s, I managed to keep them in my card with GB as I used to make sure I’d move them round the yard at bescot but I’ve not done the shunt for a while or touched one so they have dropped off my card, wouldn’t take much to put them back on though

I think Colas went through a bit of a financial crisis a few years ago, they sold off the Class 60’s and returned several loco’s that were on lease.  I’m surprised 70801 - 04 are up for sale as I would have thought the Class 56’s would have been sold before the Class 70’s, but then I believe the Class 56’s are owned outright, rather than leased.

I believe the rid themselves of a lot of OTM’s as well, especially the older kit. I’m surprised they haven’t decided to drop the 66 fleet and keep the 70’s.

66s and 56s can go lots of places 70s can't. Several lines in the South West and Welsh valleys aren't cleared for 70s.

Comment elsewhere has suggested this is an old advert that saw no takers when it was listed.

A couple of 70's about yesterday. 70016 passing Radley and 70815 approaching Kennington Jct.

Wow......those trees at Radley look a lot bigger than they were when I used to pop over in my lunchtime while I was at Abingdon college in the late 1980's. Lovely pictures though :)

And 6m32 at Hapton this morning, was hoping for 56’s,but I suppose it’s nice just to see a freight rumble through this week.
