chopshopjohn
I note, with interest, that this will be the last occasion on which the Stafford and Rochdale exhibitions clash. I have visited the Rochdale exhibition in the past but must confess that, for a variety of reasons, the last time I did so was when they had 51218 outside on a low loader. Subject to my health and the weather I may consider a visit in November. Cheers, John.

I have visited the Rochdale exhibition in the past but must confess that, for a variety of reasons, the last time I did so was when they had 51218 outside on a low loader. Subject to my health and the weather I may consider a visit in November. Cheers, John. Good grief John, that was some years ago in the days when we were at the Town Hall. it was on its way to the Worth Valley at the time and one of the owners Richard Greenwood was a founder member of the RMRG. Why not do both shows the same weekend John quite a few peple do! Its always been a shame that we have clashed as both shows are well worth the visit, concentrating on the quality end of exhibition layouts, neither of us accept duff layouts (thats not a ban on layouts featuring class 47s) The other good thing is we can now reciprocate visits with each clubs layouts' and it has also removed a slight stumbling block to featuring a certain large MMRS layout at Stafford (most of the operating crew are members of the RMRG as well!) heres to the success of both shows! Good Idea Andy. However, those that are able to visit both shows the same weekend tend not to have been members of Stafford Railway Circle since 1961. RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted January 22, 2011 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted January 22, 2011 With two new SRC layouts (Seagone (7mm/0-16.5) and Middle Cubley (7mm/0)) both making their début at this years show, the clubroom has been a flurry of activity of late. Both layouts were looking great when I saw them last night.

Galtee More
Stafford: always a good show. Looking forward to it and saving up pennies for the trade. RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted January 22, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 22, 2011 Just to confirm that Damian (Indomitable026), John (Old Gringo) and I (2ManySpams) will all be there on a demo stand. This year we'll be taking and working on parts of John's new American layout "Once upon a time in the West". Between us we'll be laying some track, doing a spot of wiring, some basic scenics and I'm guessing a lot of talking! Feel free to introduce yourselves and have a chinwag. Also happy to talk about our Cornish projects "Diesels in the Duchy" and "Treneglos". Look forward to seeing you there! (Just follow the trial of polystyrene bits....) avonside1563
Things hotting up for the show now. The two new club layouts 'Seagone' and 'Middle Cubley' are both looking good, ready for their debut at the show, and the old favourite 'Littleton Parkway' is getting its final titivation for its final appearance at the Stafford show. Following this year's exhibition appearances it is planned to retire it so that the new club finescale OO layout 'Whiteacres' can be completed. My battery drill is on charge ready for constructing the exhibitor's refreshment area on the Friday of the set-up!
Tom Garnet
Seagone is the first narrow gauge layout exhibited by the host Railway Circle for some years, and is well worth seeing in its own right.

RMweb Premium ELTEL Posted January 30, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 30, 2011 Almost forgot another layout making its first appearance at Stafford next weekend is my test layout which has now now had some extra scenic treatment from fellow club member Hadley Taylor. It is called Charles Street Sidings and is a shunting layout based on "Inglenook Sidings" running as a Engineers yard with Dutch Livery wagons This time using the more up to date Kadee couplings Was 5ft long but I believe Hadley has added another fiddle yard Terry ( Eltel )
