Wummyock
Could anyone tell me if the small radius Streamline points are fine for Bachmann 37's,47's and Hornby 50's,56's etc etc to run through radius wise in fiddle yards?
34theletterbetweenB&D
No problem at all, at a nominal 24" radius significantly easier than the roughly 18" of the minimum 2nd radius curvature they are specified for.
Robert Davies
Out of the box? Certainly.... If you've fitted any buffer beam detailing, a quick test may be in order. I'm thinking air pipes engaging on couplings typically. I know for a fact that a Bachmann 37 with the MU pipe fitted will ping it off on the coupling, on medium radius points more often than not. -Rob
RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted December 30, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 30, 2010 Agree with the comments above - they will go around the curves but not necessarily if you have any of the detailing added. In addition to which remember that where points form part of a reverse-curve such as a crossover or a point one way and a curve back the other to lead into parallel tracks that you might find buffers and couplers have issues negotiating the S-bend. Buffer-lock is rather common; coupler swing (or the lack of it) can cause derailments and both can result in disaster if you need to make a propelling movement through a reverse-curve.
