We enter the peak modelling season refreshed and ready to move forward with these exciting projects ... model D&E? N? G? .... live in West London/ Surrey? We could be the club for you ! TEAMYAKIMA
Breaking news! Twickenham & District MRC caters for all modellers from N to G and now the committee have announced a new OO project to further broaden the club's appeal The club are building a small 'fast build' OO layout which will be built as a modern image 'starter' project. It will be a small (10ft) project using ready built PECO track so it will both cater for 'beginners' looking to learn/practice essential skills and at the same time show that Twickenham MRC are serious about supporting and promoting D&E modelling.

TEAMYAKIMA
It's our annual Open Day this Saturday July 22nd(10am - 4pm). Here is a promotional video showing scenes from our previous two open days in 2015 and 2016.
TEAMYAKIMA
Twickenham & District MRC's recent open day was a great succes and has now resulted in no fewer than six new applications for membership. One recent recruit from the open day is Maurice Phillips, seen here working on the club's 7mm layout Addison Road ... Addsison Road is without doubt TDMRC's biggest and most ambitious layout in any gauge and makes its full exhibition debut next weekend at the Farnham & District MRC's show on Oct 14/15. Last Friday the group (including Maurice) were making the final checks to make sure the layout makes a good impression on the day.....
steve W
Simplicity Central To follow those splendid pictures of Addison Road, here's another layout from TDMRC. This one maintained by the juniors and gets to go out to fete's and fairs for the very junior engine drivers to have a go. We should have put more super-elevation on the curves, but didn't realise at the time just how fast a Hornby 'Thomas' can go. Set track and donated stock. This pic from Elisa Kivy, a member of the contemporary image 'Eastgate' team, of a more traditional goods train. Meanwhile, whilst the track was being tested prior to a trip out, the club's bus enthusiasts decided that the new 'Piggery Lane' station forecourt is a great place for an impromptu convention. After all, the hobby is meant to be fun! See more of the buses on the club Facebook page @TwickenhamMRC
TEAMYAKIMA
Twickenham & District MRC are pleased to announce five (yes, FIVE) new members this month! Welcome Barry, Terry, Maurice, Rafael and Noel.
RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted October 25, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 25, 2017 And the Facebook page has gained a new member here. Penhayle Bay's rolling stock is all boxed up and living in Strawberry Hill these days awaiting a future time when there might again be space for a layout rather than a small static display board. TEAMYAKIMA
Penhayle Bay's rolling stock is all boxed up and living in Strawberry Hill these days awaiting a future time when there might again be space for a layout rather than a small static display board. It seems to me that that rolling stock deserves a 'day out' ..... this Friday (like every first Friday in the month) is the night our Multi-Gauge-Test-Track is set up for those who like to run/test their stock - why not come down and let your locos stretch their legs - all gauges catered for from Z to G ! steve W
Whilst 'serious' ? layouts usually get most attention, our simple 6 x 3 toy train set had an outing to Staines and Egham show last Saturday to entertain the youngsters. We weren't short of trainee drivers and even the mayor's family got involved. The farmyard, having been replaced by an out of town retail park has the start of a new housing development as well. Here is the advertising hoarding: A good day out with some superb layouts (real ones) in attendance.
TEAMYAKIMA
Twickenham & District MRC is always keen to promote the hobby to a wider audience - and as a result hopefully attract new club members! As part of that ongoing outlook the club is holding a 'pop-up' exhibition right in the heart of Twickenham on April 21st. From 10am to 3.30pm, in Twickenham Library, the club will be selling the hobby to the general public who might never attend a full-blown exhibition or open day. Whilst our primary aim is to spread the word to a new audience we will also be showcasing our club to those already in the hobby - people like YOU who have found this thread and who are taking the time to read this. So, if you want to find out more about our club and/or support an attempt to reach out to potential new modellers, please come down on April 21st - you are most welcome! RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted February 27, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 27, 2018 Date duly noted thank you. And only a short walk from this Hill of Strawberries too. Would there be any interest in or space to display a couple of my weathered ex-Penhayle Bay locos as examples of what the self-taught beginner can achieve?
