HEBRIDEAN ISLES FERRY

Hi Carl,

Thanks for that.

I am extending the base board out by 1.6m. This should give me 20cm or so between the bow and the wall/rafters. Heb will then be 'stern in' following the line of the railway. The width of the linkspan is going to be 12cm. Height of linkspan ramp from sea is going to be 2cm. Length of ramp between Harbour wall and end 15cm.

What do you think?

Thanks for that, it looks more Calais than Port Askaig though!

Was the photo of Isle of Arran reversing into Port Askaig yours? Can't get onto the old rm to look at it.

How do we get parts of the old rm on here? Not sure.

Port Askaig is what I'm aimimg at, especially as the stern of Heb is so low.

Mast and bridge looking awesome.

 Crickey!! Fancy building one in 7mm?

Just for interest, I recently took this on our local boating lake. She is just 12' long. Uses a car battery. Has a pipe band playing. full lighting, smoke from stack and ships siren.

Can't be that authentic, she dosn't seem to have run aground or collided with anything... ;)

I'm very impressed with the cal-mac model, I quite fancy a train ferry, and this is really not helping,..

It's coming on rather well. I've missed my daily fix of looking at the pictures of your progress so it's good to catch up. I do like that overlay around the bow.

Bernard

thanks Bernard

Hi all

I been finishing the Bow wall supports and rope guides and drainage holes tonight, just need to do the ships anchor holes in the bow sides.

Tell me what you think!!

Ps, I am taking commissions for ferries no bigger than 300ft long. In OO and N gauge, message me for info.

Thanks

Carl

I'll interested to see how you do all those.

I will hopefully be making a start on the harbour extension in a week or 2. Will post pics on this site when I get them. I don't have a Caolisport thread now, I don't like the new blog thingy, its clumsy.

Have you thought about exhibiting your skills, with a suitable layout?
