eastwestdivide
... The sub-titles of threads doesn't seem to appear anymore - at least not on my (ancient) browser..... The original idea of this thread was to illustrate trains passing, hauled by the same class of loco or formed of the same class of DMU/EMU. Subtitle not appearing on my (quite new) browser either. It's been reported here (as "topic descriptions"): http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/98128-topic-descriptions-where-do-they-go/ The "Topic Description" field is still there to fill in when you open a new topic, but doesn't seem to appear on screen after that. Not RAM, ROM or other kinds of memory, but a rare case of WOM = Write-Only Memory. Edited June 2, 2015 by eastwestdivide
Andy Y
Technically poor because of dull lighting and overhead distractions but statistically difficult to achieve. RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted January 8, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) To add a bit of south coast interest here are a couple from Hastings and Newhaven. I have since added a slightly more varied selection. I have since THEN read the note above about the intention of the thread to record meetings of the same class. So a couple have been withdrawn! Many of my shots have captions added. Having spent months scanning my Dad's railway albums I realized that captioning helps future generations know what the photo is about. They are particularly useful in threads on sites like this, where they save having to keep interspersing the photos with text. File names are helpful but can be too brief. They can also get changed when moving stuff about. But they are obviously handy for search purposes. jamesg
Two (or three) Voyagers passing near Eckington this evening. I was out to photograph an earlier train; it's lucky that these two trains arrived at the right moment, and just before the light failed completely. Though I got a frame moments before with the cabs virtually in line, I like the reflection of the rear light on the other unit.
