Glorious NSE
Double sheds on the Great Western - the Bristol-ADJ steel empties pop out of one tunnel, whilst an engineers train moving slowly wrong line pops out of the other during track work at Newport - location is Newport Gaer Jcn And Brizzle Parkway for this one, scrap heads to wales whilst an engineers train rolls down the loop...that goods loop is now a passenger platform! Glorious NSE
Couple from the Southampton area - up and down 442's pass near Maritime, and if that 57 had been a 66 you might have qualified for a two-fer! And just up the road at Millbrook, the EWS shed on an Eastleigh-Westbury engineers train holds for a Freightliner that's just left Maritime. coachmann
Todays railway is shed, shed and more sheds, so how hard is it to get two similar locos... Ignore the Duff! Here's a Class 40 approaching Colwyn Bay on the Up with another 40 crawling along the Down Slow with a Freightliner.
Glorious NSE
Hmm - suspect it would have been easier to do a shot of a pair of one loco class passing on the North Wales coast then than now... I am your father Luke... Nooooo...... This would be hard to replicate already, and will soon be impossible again...Gatwick Express 460s cross at Clapham Jcn And another modern historical shot, 313s cross at Hackney Wick on the North London Line Edited November 4, 2011 by Glorious NSE

Jim Martin
olive mount cutting Do you know what the DBS train is? I wasn't aware of them running intermodal trains to Liverpool and the Allerton wagons for repair (which often did bring container flats to Liverpool) doesn't run any more. Latterly, the sidings at Allerton were full of container wagons - including several wheel-less KFAs loaded onto other KFAs. Regards Jim

jbg06003
Some great pics on this thread. Some from me - absolutely no units (for now ) A wintery December morning in 1981 and a class 20 with a southbound engineers about to pass a northbound freight hauled by 20 219 at Markinch. Another frosty morning somewhat further north at Achnasheen - 26024 waits to leave with the 06.55 to Kyle as 26041 arrives with the 07.10 to Inverness. March 1984 40170 & 40122 with bulk carbonate trains pass at Carnforth. May 1980 A Scotrail liveried 47716 'Duke of Edinburghs Award' leaves Leuchars with the 16.55 Edinburgh to Aberdeen service as 47 098 approaches with the afternoon Craiginches to Immingham slk freight. Sam '43003' Tanner
Two Voyagers at Yate When did the turnout for the Tytherington branch get re-laid.? I'd naturally assume that it's in preperation for the branch opening back up. I know the initial section seen here is sometimes used for reversal at Yate, but other than that, I'd have no idea.
