I have found a couple more pictures from the 1980s

Stratford allocated 47155 approaches Dawlish with 14.20 (SO) Paignton - Paddington

as an unidentified 47 powers towards the west. 19/7/80.

Walnut Tee Junction

post-7081-0-56668700-1321963752.jpg

37218 drags a rake of empty and loaded MCV and MCOs up towards Taffs Well

as 37271 cautiously drifts down towards Radyr with loaded MCVs,

including B587638 which had a hot-box, 26/6/81.

Gaer Junction Newport

post-7081-0-43649500-1321964495_thumb.jpg

An unidentified class 37 (37184?) brings a train of loaded MDVs down from the Western Valley,

meanwhile 37176 stands waiting acceptance from A D Jn with coil from Llanwern for Newport Docks, 1/12/81.

EWS 66's passing each other on the same type of train (well technically the RH one was a van train not a car train).

Here is one more from me.

post-7081-0-25360500-1341661947.jpg

At Magor to the west of Severn Tunnel Junction,

On the up relief 37135 had been held at signals for some minutes, probably waiting acceptance

into Severn Tunnel Junction Yard, it is working an airbraked trip from Radyr.

Meanwhile on the down main 37285 heads west with another airbraked service, 16/6/83

Knowing of this topic, when this scenario unfolded in front of me, then I just had to take the picture!

Two of the Bournemouth beach land trains pass each other close to the bottom of the West Cliff cliff lift on August 5th.

Ah, but are they the same class? One looks like a 2-2-0T the other a 2-4-0T !

Good spot though!

cheers
