rope runner
Hello helpful people, I've been having running issues with my new graham farish 08. It ran well for a few months, but now suddenly has become juttering and slow I think the quartering may have shifted, or a crank or something ???? Does anyone know of a "quick" fix, is this a common problem (not unheard of?) It also gets hot when running a few feet and emits a slight burning smell. it slows down and speeds up too Thanks in advance Paul
RMweb Premium Kris Posted January 22, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 22, 2011 Have you looked to see if there is anything interfering with the motor, possibly something that it has picked up? If you haven't might be worth doing this and also checking to see how freely the motor spins at the same time.
Dr Al
If it was quartering it'd likely show one particularly sticky tight spot per rotation of the wheels. I wouldn't muck with that until sure that's the problem. I'd remove the body and the motor so it can be run disconnected from the drive - if the motor runs ok on its own then there's something in the drivetrain (not necessarily quartering). If not, then the motor is the problem. Cheers, Alan Hello helpful people, I've been having running issues with my new graham farish 08. RMweb Gold McRuss Posted January 23, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 23, 2011 Maybe your loco collected a good amount of fibre and dirt. So I would recommend to clean the gear and wheels, and then start another testrun. Markus
