Waverley West
Hope replacing the defective bulb doesn't cause too many headaches! Press release from Haymarket MPD: "The problem of the non-working light in the mechanical foreman's office block was not as serious as first thought. The wires from the LED had been connected up to the main building wiring circuit the wrong way round. This was not apparent during individual testing of the light concerned. The problem has now been fixed and the hamfisted electrician concerned dealt with appropriately." Doh and phew at the same time. Popular Post Waverley West
Hi folks, Just thought I'd post a few more pics from yesterday... Work is now under way to produce some clutter for the inside of the shed, including pallets, crates, drums, etc. I also have a welder and an Express Models kit to stimulate arc welding to install too. I had one of these in the previous incarnation of the depot and really liked it, but it must have got lost in the house move. Then I think it will be back to 150001 which has been sat on my desk in a part-finished state since before Christmas. Cheers for now,Dave Edited January 25, 2018 by Waverley West

Popular Post Waverley West
Hi folks, Just thought I'd post some random shots of the layout tonight. The west end of Waverley was busy with services waiting to depart for Fife, Inverness, Dundee and various other stopping services... A view of the west end of Waverley from the top of the National Gallery... A few shots of Haymarket MPD as 47563 eases its way inside the depot. I think some detailing to the inside of the door is in order now that I can take shots from inside the depot building. A helicopter view of the depot side of the layout taken at night... And some closeups... 47563 keeps D200 and 47714 company. 60009 can just be seen inside the depot building. With 47710 out on trials following successful modifications to its bogies to stop the persistent derailing, 47714 takes a well-earned breather from the push-pulls... A sneaky look inside the depot now that the office light is working... I know some RMWebbers aren't fussed about interior lighting on trains, but I hope these photos show why I am so keen on them. WW at night is like a completely different layout. Cheers for now, Dave Edited January 27, 2018 by Waverley West

RMweb Gold The Pilotman Posted January 28, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 28, 2018 Love the Princes Street Garden vid. I stood on the bridge there for a little while one day last year but nothing anywhere near as interesting as that passed underneath.
Crisis Rail
Once stood there on a school "history trip" in 1975. There was a good amount of interest then. Helped with the fact our history teacher was bonkers on all things railways. Seemed odd that an educational trip to Edinburgh included doing Haymarket depot. Union of South Africa was in bits at the time too. Edited January 28, 2018 by Crisis Rail

Hi Dave, All working fine for me here in darkest Northern Ireland.... The videos are great and so too are all the lovely pictures you post. It can be a challenge to faithfully capture the atmosphere of a real location but you have managed to do that supremely. I have to have a tissue in my hand when I follow the ongoing story of WW - to wipe the drool of my chin! I only hope I can reach that sort of standard with my own layout when I finally get all the track laid, wiring done, etc. Best regards, Tom PS - I look forward to meeting up again sometime for the next "adventure" with the Northern Counties Group.... I'm sure by now you will have heard from Colm that Bleach Green has been sold and will be moving to a new permanent home here in NI.

The videos are great too the clapped out 27 is great and the push pull set really looks superb, the glint from the laser glaze in the coaching stock and detailing you have done to them really sets them apart. Shame in a way, but at least it seems to have gone to a good home. Maybe see you in Glasgow? Cheers for now, Dave
