RMweb Gold traction Posted October 11, 2009 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 11, 2009 Thought I'd post a couple of the Scalescenes models, so it doesn't look so bare in the smaller suppliers listing! The large station kit in N-gauge:- And a comparison of OO and N-gauge canopy! Cheers

Tin Turtle
Wow, the kit looks very interesting - what was it like to build?
Bruce Depot
Oh, for the space to have a larger layout, what with sound fitted HST's and this termini building! The train shed part reminded me of St.Prancas... Just how many platforms etc will fit in, really looking forward to seeing some pictures of a layout with this station used.... Better not get to many ideas else shmbo will go nuts cheers Keith
RMweb Gold traction Posted October 14, 2009 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 14, 2009 The N-gauge was quite fiddley, but on the whole not too bad. It pays to spray all the printed sheets with the clear matt varnish, before glueing everything together, it protects the printed sheets a little. Also make sure you wipe the glue off your hands often, it's dead easy to cover the whole model in glue. The OO gauge was in fact a little more awkward because of it's size, trying to hold the canopy roof on, I could have done with 3 pairs of hands, that clamp like a vice!! Not too much of a problem just need to take your time. Keith, take a look at my blog, I'm starting a micro layout using the station canopy and the scalescenes warehouse, thought it would be good to have two very imposing structures on a small layout. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/blog/86/entry-329-lets-see-what-it-looks-like-with-buildings-on/ Cheers Ian
David Rickard
Two questions spring to mind: 1. Where do you get your card? I've found getting 1mm card to be very tricky! 2. Where did you get spray matt varnish? I've found that equally hard to find.
RMweb Gold traction Posted October 14, 2009 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 14, 2009 Grey fibre board from artsaver, scroll down a little ways to get to the greyfibre board:- http://www.artesaver...hed_Canvas.html It comes in 25 sheet packs, but cardboard always gets used!! Both in 1mm and 2mm thick. Spray matt varnish is from 7day shop:- http://www.7dayshop....oducts_id=61025 Which reminds me I must order some more!!!
