Crisis Rail
No modelling updates as Woodlands Scenics foliage are the next stage - about 4 boxes needed - but here are a few images from the real Deepdale (Longridge) line which the layout is based on - the terrace backs are Castleton Road. 1722
Ian, those pictures have a feel of Mossley Terrace about them - a layout featured on Carl Arendt's site many moons ago. Looking forward, as ever, to updates.

Looking forward, as ever, to updates. Yes - serious attention to detail - I feel I have cheated somewhat with the backscene but they are quite good. Mossley Terrace here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=34177&p=576409 Excellent diorama I remember it from the old site. Meanwhile here's a couple more from the Castleton archives including a (small inset image) of a sorry looking 40109 tripped up on the catch points. On with detailing and weathering the bridge - I really must plant some trees as I really feel this will bring it all to life. Ian

Theakerr
Very nice set of back-yard pictures. It looks as though the back-yards do not have any access.
Crisis Rail
Very nice set of back-yard pictures. It looks as though the back-yards do not have any access. No they don't - very overgrown now as well - this strangely enough was the site of Deepdale Station. Ian

Crisis Rail
Not much done on the layout - but heres the other scenic break "factory" with LEGO louvre as a vent. Ian
Grimleygrid
Very nice Ian, love the idea of the Lego louvre! Thinking outside of the box.......

Crisis Rail
Not as such. Some "sub - assembly's" in the background - garage is a bit on the cold side and still need lots of foilage - I have 2 boxes of the quality Woodland Scenics - more required. In a dilemma of what stock and rakes to run which is on my mind - good to keep it as Deepdale was but there is so many tempting combinations - I do like the Crewe Basford Hall to Carlisle 6K05 consists for MTA OBA MFA Network Rail JNA and Autoballasters. Decisions - but BR Blue will probably be the way to go. Ian
Crisis Rail
Managed to get in the garage after clambering over five bikes a lawnmower and various other retired motor related paraphernalia Revisited the backscene as good as they are I thought the use of the id one is a bit of a "cop out" and lazy to be honest. there is about 4 inches or so of depth to extend backwards which was the original intention. These images were took out and about for research and inspiration on the outskirts of the fine Metropolis of Preston on a typically wet Lancashire day. It is the WCML from Preston to Lancaster. Decent Tagging...! So I have extended the asbestos building from GUNNSBURN SP (will be replaced) and used the awning from yet another defunct project. Poor Blackberry shots not helped by the solitary light bulb after another one blew - but this is the general idea. Builders Merchant style yard. Crisis Rail
Recent additions. 40141 (to be renumbered 40135 obviously! Legomanbiffo chipped and Weathered) plus some Mk Ones I picked up unboxed for £12 each - as new are obscenely expensive - five more or so to source, Outer shot - this layout is difficult to photo any images. 135's Sister looking well on th ELR at BBS. Far from complete a simple but easy enjoyable project to start running full length rakes it's good to finally get back in the garage. Ian

Crisis Rail
No modelling whatsoever in the last few weeks due to domestic chores on an industrial scale - hopefully get some of these done today. Oh the irony. Coming off the Preston North End game last week I took this on Deepdale Road of the Castleton backs - hard to imagine it was once doubletracked and a Station existed there. The passage of time. Ian
Intercity 125
Very similar story with the prototype location of my new layout, once there was a double track line and a large BR engineers depot with connections to the Bristol Harbour Railway, all that remains now is a single track, some overgrown platforms and the trackbed, soon to be lost to the BRT2/Metrobus guided busway scheme . Keep up the good work on the layout. IC125
class"66"
Nice history lesson on the above pictures... looking forward to more from this.. cheers neil.
Crisis Rail
Modellers block cleared to a certain extent so progress made. Far from complete - but getting there - time and money. I ditched the building arrangement as I really prefer the id backscenes terraces. A study of all things Clitheroe and the Horrocksford branch is the way to go. Castle Cement VTG JPA EWS or DB 66 (66110) - I would like to run a 60 but cannot find any images of 60's with JPA wagons even though 60029 is named Clitheroe Castle - I think the newer PCA rakes are 60 based haulage? Avonmouth to Clitheroe flows. Nine acquired - Four or Five to go for a prototypical rake WILLS relay boxes - these vary from grey to a faded blue - the warning flashes will be changed to yellow ones. These look useful - but the TESCO bags look slightly oversize. Ian

Crisis Rail
Topic has been given a rename after much consideration over it's direction - not to say that it's evolution is forgotten. "..........this week I have been mostly studying all things Horrocksford......." It will get there in the end. Ian
RMweb Premium Chimer Posted June 13, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 13, 2015 Missed this one earlier but picked it up from your reply on Matt's Longridge thread. Much too modern for me , but I'll be watching now and bound to pick up stuff relevant to my half-formed thoughts. Cheers Chris
