.

This release was meant to be of one based at a Southern Region shed - can you confirm this ?

.

92211 was originally a WR 9F being based at Old Oak Common.

On the 23/08/61 the loco was transferred to 71A Eastleigh, it was later based at other SR sheds including Feltham.

14/09/63 shows it being transferred to the ER York North.

Hope this assists.

The 71A allocation was primarily for haulage of the block oil tank trains from Fawley refinery to Bromford Bridge and other destinations.

Later entrusted to the newly delivered BRCW D65X aka Class 33

Still the yawning gap between loco and tender.  I guess loco to tender doors are beyond Bachmann though I can't find a picture of a 9F in motion with the doors open

Quite what the longer drawbar spacing is for is anyone's guess, it will go round any curve the coupled wheelbase will negotiate on the shorter provided setting. So we just have to do this for ourselves. Drill new hole in drawbar, file down the intermediate buffers to allow enough angle between loco and tender for the minimum radius on the layout they will work on, add doors.
