Guest Max Stafford
Well, when you looked across to Stainton and narrowed your eyes... To be fair, although the weather was grim in the morning, it perked up a little for the afternoon and there was a pretty good turnout. It's been a long time since they had so many Type 1s here but there were a good few, along with the two boat train 47s, Galloway Princess in Royal Scotsman Pullman-style livery and both the Stobart and Malcolm 66/4s displayed sans branding as they are now off lease. They looked surprisingly good in their plain base liveries. I scored three nice books too though ironically two were of maritime subjects! Dave. RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted July 17, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2011 I missed have missed you Dave, I was there from about 13:00 - 15:45. I think DRS let themselves down a bit in the positioning of some of the locos, I heard a lot of grumbles, maybe squeezing too many quarts ? I really enjoyed the day though, so thanks to the DRS team.
