I've been to Lime Street a few times in the past, but hadn't realised there is the arrangement you describe - an unused platform face forming a siding. Anyway, I'm glad it wasn't some sort of oversight or error in measurement - although I'm sure everything has been checked meticulously before cutting material! Dave. At least my 80W soldering is keeping me warm in this cold country! The front half of the southern station roof is now out of its building jig and ready for final finishing before fitting to the layout and going to Utrecht. And a close up of the front screen. However I went with another four riders from our group to the Barn Cafe at Scorton for the regulation coffee and cake. The bike was decidedly dirty on my return home and needed a good hose down. What better time to hose down the station roof to get rid of all the flux, dust, swarf etc. (and it wouldn't fit in the dishwasher, my usual brass/nickel silver washer!) 6 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

It holds each truss in its correct position and vertical. and with the trusses clamped in position and held in with a cable tie. And that is it for progress on this section. All other stages were covered earlier in this thread so i won't repeat myself. Only one minor adjustment to make it a perfect fit! The view from the approach to the station; And, finally for the passenger eye view! Onwards once again to the other half of the southern roof. The installation of the roof highlighted a few lighting problems. The layout lights are close to the roof and hence the roof dominates. Hopefully once the roof is painted in a smoky black it will be less obtrusive and the trains will be visible beneath the roof.
