Satan's Goldfish
Discovered this cam a couple of days ago and not got much work done since! Think we can pretty much cover 'A prototype for everything' with this location. Now set as home page and finally found the reason why i have to monitors type/work on one screen, watch Fostoria on the other. Anyone know of any progress on cam 2? Michael Delamar
My apologies, it is E8/E9 units. May 5th about 12 til 1 local time (5-6pm UK time). did anyone see this? I forgot about it
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 25, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 25, 2011 It did not pass in front of the camera after all. However a special hauled by F units made up of 7 passenger cars (including a clerestory) did go through about 2 weeks ago. Everybody nearly missed it due to the web cam keeping going offline, the camera came back with seconds to spare but with no sound! Palpitations all round. Adrian Wintle
(including a clerestory) Almost certainly what in North American terms is called a 'heavyweight' coach (the standard style of coach for most of the first half of the last century). trisonic
Tornado siren going off in Fostoria right now!!!!!!! Best, Pete.
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 25, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 25, 2011 Sirens going again. I've never seen rain like it.
trisonic
I've been in one here at home, what you're not seeing is that all TV channels get a bright red screen with scrolling messages to take cover in a basement or in your bathtub! Best, Pete.
trisonic
Then the power goes off..................... Best, Pete.
winterbournecm
I've been hooked for week or two now. I only see an advert at the start of the sequence. The mixture of sound, everyday life and the on line forum are wonderful. I bet it's essential for house bound train fans all around the world. It must be a "blast" living near-by and hoping for a lay-in with all the train action and constant horn blowing - ear-plugs required I guess!
Glorious NSE
Dropped in for half an hour or so late last night, apocalyptic rain, flash flood warnings across the Willard sub, and lightning was taking out the signalling system every few minutes so trains were being talked past every signal...and the dispatcher was trying in vain to raise some poor signal maintainer who was out there trying to make it all work... RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 26, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 26, 2011 Things have settled down this morning. But from what has been said on the scanner CSX still have signal problems.
Satan's Goldfish
Damn i have one night away from watching and i miss all that!
trisonic
It got quite exciting at times - A kid was rushing across the rails obviously trying to get home whilst off to the right you could see the edge of the "Wall Cloud" with the greenish light underneath. It looked like a typical large "Super Cell" or "Mothership" - I'm not at all surprised that the sirens were going off! Here's a clip (but from Australia) of a Supercell/Mothership T-Storm:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1499p903jWw best, Pete.
Satan's Goldfish
That's a big cloud! Nice vid. I did watch a bit last night and there was some heavy rain and still radioing through signal failures, but no super cell.

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 29, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 29, 2011 Cam has been down now for 24 hours? Cheers, Peter C. Cam was operating up till 10 o'clock last night UK time at least. It is still only 06.20 over there and it is still a one man operation.
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 29, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 29, 2011 Cam is still out of action. A tornado warning is in place so that may be the reason why.
Satan's Goldfish
I'm getting withdrawal shakes! I think as reasons for being down go, a Tornado warning is a good one

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 30, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 30, 2011 Apparently there has been modem problems. Mike, the guy running it has to make a 150 mile round trip to fix it.

45568
I seem to find that the sound is streaming, but the video is on "timelapse", several frames, stop, several frames etc. Is it just me? cheers, PC
trisonic
When you say "Sound" do you mean background noise or the radio chatter? The radio chatter comes from a different source. is why. The video is probably just messing with your brain. I'll check it out right now. Best, Pete
