darren01 Posted November 20, 2009 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Many Standards at the 2010 Spring Steam Gala A bold plan is being hatched for the 2010 Spring Steam Gala. The theme for this event is "GWR 175 - The Standard Revolution" in recognition of the great input of all at the GWR's Swindon Works in the creation of many of the successful British Railways Standard Class steam locomotives of the 1950s. The plan is to bring together for the first time in the heritage railway era an operational example of each of the eight classes of Standards surviving today. This is looking like one of the best line ups of steam on the west summerset railway for a number of years ! Any RMwebers going ,we should meet up at Bishops lydeard station on the day ,as it would be nice to meet other from here. Hope to see you thier on Sat 20th . We're doing some of her research on the Friday and Sunday so Saturday is mine. We'll be visiting the museums along the line and the shed. We may even get to travel. That's the plan, anyway.
