Just discovered "The KDH archive" on flickr, with galleries on most hydraulic classes including this one on the Westerns http://www.flickr.com/photos/96859208@N07/sets/72157634818516912/

It contains some magnificent photos, including this one of Hero almost devoid of blue paint

http://www.flickr.com/photos/96859208@N07/9709825201/in/set-72157634818516912

and this one of D1059 departing Plymouth North Road for Cornwall with the remnants of the Millbay branch in the foreground

http://www.flickr.com/photos/96859208@N07/9359419008/in/set-72157634818516912

A new flickr member in 2013, it makes you wonder how many other collections are waiting to be given a wider audience.

EDIT: I pasted the website hyperlink, so I'm not sure why the photos are being streamed. I've reported myself in case it breaches copyright and the link needs to be changed.

Hi all,

pictures of hydraulics of any class hauling/propelling Inspection Saloons seem to be rarer than hens teeth - if anybody has any that they would be prepared to post here, or can point me in a particular direction, I would be more than grateful.

regards

Mike

Mike, I've just seen your request. There's one on my Flikr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/52554553@N06/10422133144/in/set-72157636832767166

Hi Andy,

that is great, many thanks for posting. It looks as if the Inspection Saloon is DB999506 with E's branding - handy as Easy-build have just brought a 7mm kit out for this Diagram 1/552 Inspection Saloon - see also Brian Daniels build thread of DB999508 here on RMweb

cheers

Mike

Take a look at the KDH archive that I've put a link for in post 1 of this thread or here

https://flic.kr/p/kqFnd1 edit - scroll backwards first.

D6337 as landing point - click forward and backwards from that photo.

Wow just wow - May 1st 1969 first date to set on the time machine South Devon sea wall

Thanks Jonny but I'd prefer to keep this thread for Flickr and other galleries on the web with BB linking where this is possible. I'd also like to keep my photo thread where there has been great interactions and people including yourself posting their superb photos when they don't have their own dedicated thread or Flickr streams.

Hi Mike,

many thanks for posting the Hymek with what looks like a Q13 Inspection Saloon, but I cannot place the Saloon livery, it looks almost like Inter-City - I hope that it is as I am building DW80975 in that livery and need an excuse to get a Hymek! Wallet about to get a pounding at the GOG show at Kettering tomorrow.

Cheers

Mike

I have rounded up as many of my father's diesel hydraulic photos as I can find. They are posted on the ipernity photo-sharing site, along with the rest of his railway photos and my more recent ones.

The links are

If you want to download any of these for personal or other non-commercial reasons please do. The ipernity site has had a bit of a wobble recently, so you could find these links disappear. I thoroughly dislike Flickr's style now and don't know where, if anywhere, our fairly large archive would go if ipernity did fold.

Best wishes to all for 2016
