Welcome, one and all, to the precious little corner of RMWeb that has been allocated to the humble, yet ubiquitous Class 47. The group was born out of the realisation that, on a fairly regular basis, 47s will crop up and there is always much to discuss so if the concept of Spanners and Stone-Vapors either thrills you or leaves you desperately muddled, come on in – the water’s lovely.

 

Whilst this is intended to be a useful resource about the class, it’s history and the modelling thereof, it isn’t really the place to wring out the perennial discussion about ‘whose is best’. We’ve all been there and done that.

 

Hopefully, pooling of the vast amount of information we have between us will build a useful repository that people can refer to again and again.
