steve1023
Hi. Could somebody advise of the running numbers and destinations of Hornby class 101 (Ref R2698) in blue/grey livery. I have been trying internet searches but without any luck. If anybody can help...... Many thanks Steve

Adrian Wintle
It doesn't have destinations or a set number. According to my 1980 ABC it is set 805. Adrian
robertcwp
On the old and now-disappeared RMWeb I think someone posted a photo of the set Hornby had modelled, but the only photos I can find are of a refurbished unit in white/blue. I was wondering if Hornby's version, in blue/grey with red buffer beams and the end with four marker lights was grounded in any sort of reality, even if with different numbers. I ask because I acquired a new, unused set this week at a very good price.
RMweb Gold adb968008 Posted November 10, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2019 (edited) There’s not a lot to go off, and 101’s seem to be like VW Beetles, but potentially theres two candidates with 4 lights & destination blinds on this page 101360 & 362 (362 is also with 4 lights, It is in Strathclyde livery, but presumably would once have been blue /grey). Also way down the page set 190 & 197 https://brdmus.livejournal.com/669.html but if the buffer beam is red is subjective. Though the set number modelled (as listed above) did not, as seen in the picture of set 805 on this page http://www.miac.org.uk/class101.html Edited November 10, 2019 by adb968008

I had it in mind that someone had found a photo of a 4-lights one at Banbury in blue/grey but now the old RMWeb has disappeared I can't track it down anywhere. RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted November 10, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 10, 2019 Weren’t the red buffer beams on Blue/Grey livery rather an Anglian thing; Norwich and/or Cambridge depots? I remember seeing plenty of 2-car Class 101s like that but not elsewhere.
