Poynton Railway Modellers

Information

We are a small group of railway modellers of varying backgrounds ages and abilities who meet on most Wednesdays to work on our own models. Meetings are held in a dedicated workroom at Poynton Community Centre from around 7.30pm to 10.30pm where we have space to house any items we are regularly working upon. We currently have layouts under construction in N-UK outline and HO-North American, and several in OO. Some modellers attend upon occasions to desk top model (taking their models home after the session) at a reduced subscription rate. The facility is heated, well illuminated and has an adjacent kitchen and Bar facility for the all important rest break. Prospective members are always welcome and space is available for individuals or groups to house and build their own portable model railways. You can build whatever you want, to what ever standard you are capable of, up to and including O Gauge. Applicants will need a basic understanding of the hobby, I.E. be capable of building their own layout and supplying all their own materials and tools. Subscription rates vary upon requirements and attendance and are available upon request from the Secretary.
