RAY NORWOOD
I've been busy building the Timber yard storage shed and timber stacks. The shed is made of C&L wood point sleepers dye'd with oak wood dye with a small drop of metalic paint to give that oak grayish look, as I did the same with the track work, it was put together with three horizontal pieces then the vertical pieces glued to the horizontals. The front has two sliding doors and the roof will have corrugated aspestos. The timber stacks are again wood sleepers and match sticks dyed in wood dye. the bearers was cut to 14mm (3 1/2 foot) lengths. Three bearers to a stack and the timber is of wood sleepers cut to 40mm (10 foot) lengths to about 6-7 high, the other stacks are of match sticks some of them dyed with the bearers. Here is some photo's The timber shed The timber stacks Hope you like. RAY70B Edited January 19, 2012 by RAY NORWOOD
RMweb Gold mudmagnet Posted January 19, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 19, 2012 Looking good Ray. Should the ends of the 'un-treated' wood be painted to prevent the ends rotting?

RMweb Gold mudmagnet Posted January 30, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 30, 2012 Looks great Ray. What a difference a few buildings make to the appearance of the layout and adds considerable life. The guard rails around the point levers are a good feature, not often modelled. All you need now is a grounded van body .... I might know where you can find one ....
RAY NORWOOD
Hi I had a nice surprice on Tusday night at our club night that Richard (mudmagnet)had gave me one of his grounded vans that he made the other day, and I have found just the place to put it on Yard Shunter.
