Valentin
I had to fix the braking gear: And I think I finished with the tender. Next step is to paint it, right? Or shall I fit the buffers and the vacuum-brake hose first then apply the primer, mask the buffer beam and paint everywhere and, in the end, paint the buffer beam red? autocoupler942
Valentin I find I cannot access the photos on boiler assembly which have just gone on the Assoc web page. It seems yet another new system conspired by microsoft to outdate my computer! Can you repeat the entry here on RMWeb?
Valentin
Hello Andrew, This time Microsoft is not to blame. It was me, who wrongfully deleted some pictures from my phone. The blog is showing the pictures now but, for convenience I'm going to post them here as well: and Thank you for spotting the error and pointing it to me. A Happy New Year to all! RMweb Premium Nig H Posted January 7, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 7, 2015 You can roll boiler and smokebox overlays using round bar or tube. If one is slightly less than the diameter required, then the wrapper should end up as a spring fit round the boiler tube. The pics show the general idea. With the wrapper etc held square between the two rods, the latter are rotated against each other, pulling the wrapper down and round one of the rods. Sometimes you need to repeat the procedure to get a tighter curve. Its worth practicing with lengths of scrap edges from etches to get the feel for the procedure, and how to get the wrapper etc round the right rod. Valentin
Thanks for the tip! I'll remember to come back to your post next time I need to roll a boiler. Meanwhile, I did more work on the model and this is where I am standing now:

RMweb Premium DavidLong Posted February 11, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 11, 2015 Hi Valentin, I think somewhere you were asking about clack valves on the C Class. A couple of photos I hope may help. The first is on the C and second is a similar valve on the H tank: Next is a close-up of the sand box on the middle splasher: Finally a shot of the linkage below the footplate from the steam reverser. The reverser was unhelpfully covered up on my visit so the shots of that on the Q (see other thread) will have to do. Sorry about the blurring (must have had camera shake in my excitement!) but I think it is still clear enough. Hope these help. David
Valentin
Thank you very much David. These pictures and the ones in the other topic, are helping a lot. I've got some copper tube which I think is the right size for the steam reverser and I'm going to scratch-build it.

Graham Hughes
It is looking really good. The reverser turned out well. It is almost a shame to start painting them when they look so nice and shiny.
