From the Oxford Diecast collectors Facebook pages, Taff has advised the following new castings:

1/76

Fire - Fordson Haevy Pump

Haulage - Noteboom 3 axle

Construction - JCB will be forthcoming, as trademark and design agreements made

Automobile -

Hillman Imp

BMW 325 1938 Mille Miglia

Aston Martin DB2

MGB GT

Commercials - Bedford QLT Post Office Telephones (the QL with largish lorry body on a 4 wheel chassis)

Military - new liveries, and Taff expects "to get tanked up the next release"!

Showtime - nothing new now, but designs are completed for a ploughing engine.

1/43 - Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato

1/72 History of Flight - Supermarine Seagull/Walrus

1/148

Cortina mkIII

Livestock farm trailer

Daimler Dingo

Scania Highline D-TEC combi trailer

Volvo FH4 Curtainside Eddie Stobart.

These are all the new casting I can see, and of course there are various new liveries on existing castings. Taff showed lots of line drawings of the new castings on Facebook, and commented that most or all of these would be shown as castings at the Toy Fairs. So if any of our number are at the Oxford stand in London or Nurnberg, please take photos and put them on here!

The Volvo FH and the container trailer are good news for the N scene. Obviously it follows the 4mm range, but I'm not sure why they've chosen to do a bit of a specialist container trailer instead of a reasonably standard triaxle 40ft skelly

Is it just me or does this seem like a bit of an anti climax?

A fair chunk of the 00 stuff looks like extensions to existing models and there's nothing much for the 1:43 range.

Was there any more information on the BMW 325?  They have been around for over 30 years, so I'm interested in knowing which generation this is?  Third or fourth generation will definitely be on my purchase list (as will any JCB).  Apart from that I might not be purchasing too much.

Its not just you, I'd hazard a guess that its because Oxford Rail is soaking up alot of their capital. As much as we'd like them to, these companies don't have an infinite pot of money to invest.

Also there is a lot of stuff in the development stage that will not be due for announcement for a year or two.

Taff showed CAD on 'Oxford diecast collector.Facebook'. Google that, and you may find you can access it. Which generation - well, Oxford said 1938! Try Googling BMW 328 1938 Mille Miglia (I see I had a typo - it is 328, not 325) and you will find such as this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_328

Thanks John - I'm definitely not interested in one of them.  I thought the 1938 Millie Miglia was an ancient car that I hadn't heard of.  Turns out it was an Italian road race and the BMW 328 was a class winner in 1938! However a BMW 325 would be much more to my liking.  There will be another announcement later in the year and something on that list may interest me.

In the past I have been able to see the Oxford Diecast Collector group pages on Facebook (even although I haven't signed up), but it now seems to be a closed group (which I don't think it was before).

I'm delighted to see a Hillman Imp on the list.  :yahoo:
I hope that they make a better job of it than the awful Base Toys one.
It could be an excellent seller if they make a good job of it as new imps were transported by rail from the factory in Linwood.
If they need a full size one to laser scan, they can use mine. :sungum:

I remember seeing a whole trainload of them hauled by a pair of Class 20s in the Portsmouth/Southampton area - presumably on their way to Southampton Docks for export.

First 20s I ever saw and absolutely amazed to see them on the Southern Region.

Yeah that's a walking floor trailer, as used for biomass etc. Both that and the low loader are nice surprises! Hopefully release of the Actros and FH aren't too far off since they're in the plastic now. The low roof Scania is a new one too

Oxford Diecast 1/43 at Nurnberg Toy Fair photos!

The Nurnberg Toy Fair finishes today, and Georg Hämel of the German website Auto & Modell has posted an excellent series of photos of 1/43 models from OD's stand. These include a rash of Aston Martins - including the DB4 GT Zagato in more or less finished form! - and the Land Rover lightweight. Enjoy at

My first car was a 1950 Ford Prefect and I'm really surprised that it hasn't been done since the Popular  has been around some years now. Look at most street photos of the period and both the Prefect and "Pop/Anglia" were very common. The 4-door E93E Prefect was built in the late 30s and the most notable difference between the pre and post war  types was the headlights. They were mounted above the front "wings" pre war and  fitted into the "wings" post war. There were van, pickup, "shooting brake" and taxi versions to name a few. Some were made in Australia and seen all over the world, so please, please Taff, let's see a good old "sit-up-and-beg" Prefect, before I fall off my perch or forget all about my lovely, first transport of delight and freedom of the road!!

Thats not the Oxford Diecast one, its the 'starter' from the Atlas 'World of Stobart' series. Oxford are making a model of the same prototype but there are differences, the Oxford one has far better tracks but IMHO the digger arm of the Atlas one is better. The best way to tell them apart is the Atlas model has white handrails whereas the Oxford ones are black.
