YB281
Hi guys. Just joined this forum. James has asked me to post some pics of my gauge 3 / G64 pannier tank. I won this loco from ebay last week to sit on the standard gauge interchange sidings of my G scale garden railway (the Wetton Gooey Light Railway).. It has been built from a GRS kit and arrived painted in GWR green. To better suit my railway, I've re-painted it in BR black (using Humbrol enamel), before weathering with Tamiya acrylics. There are still a few jobs to do including fitting number plates which are on order.
trisonic
Very nice. Does it have full suspension? I'd like more details if you have the time! Best, Pete.
YB281
Hi Pete. The kit for this loco is available from Garden Railway Specialists. It has a steel and brass chassis which is screwed and bolted together. It has a 3 piece resin body with details from white metal (including a detailed cab interior). The motor is a Mabuchi with a brass gearbox which is attached to the third axle. The third axle is the only one that isn't sprung, the first and second both having their bearings in sliding mounts (they also both have a little sideways movement). I can't really comment on what the kit is like as I didn't build it, but I have built many other GRS kits and really like them, although their instructions are often pretty useless. This 45mm gauge Kerr Stuart loco was built from a GRS kit mounted on an LGB Otto chassis.
