brian777999 Posted July 15, 2011 Share Posted July 15, 2011 I have a few questions about the Bachmann LMS patriot loco : Can the smoke deflectors be removed and did the prototype run without them ? Have the wheels and connecting rods been blackened ? (They look as if they have in photos.) Which wheels have pickups ? Are there pickups on the front bogie or on the tender wheels ? Are there any wires running from the loco to the tender for any reason ? Are the frames made of metal or is this an all plastic loco ? Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Timara Posted July 15, 2011 Share Posted July 15, 2011 Hi Brian, Hopefully these answers will help.... 1: I dare say they can, but as far as can tell from photographs it only applies to the first two locomotives (5971 and 5902). The driving wheels on the first two have larger wheel bosses. 2: Yes they have been. 3: Just the driving wheels 4: None. Just a coupling bar between loco and tender. 5: Assuming you refer just to the bodyshell, the mainframe of the bodyshell is cast mazac and everything else on it is plastic. Hope that helps!
