Hi all,

The Signal Box have got some decent prices at the moment on their new look website. No connection other than a happy shopper.

Hornby First 90 for £39.99 http://www.thesignalbox.co.uk/sb-special-offers/Hornby-fgw-ews-class-90.html

Bachmann JGA hoppers - Tarmac and Buxton Lime - for £15 each (and no need for big multipacks)

There's also the wallet flexing of Warley to look forward to next week...

For those who like cardboard and brickpaper construction - WH Smiths are selling a sketching set in a small tin, which contains a couple of reddish pastel pencils marked sepia and light sepia (reddish - should be suitable for working over brickpaper) a brownish pastel stick, a carbon pastel stick, a putty eraser and a couple of charcoal pencils for £12

Not sure if this is exactly a bargain, but many of these items are useful for modelling and may be relatively hard to source otherwise. Both my local stockists of Winsor & Newton and other art materials have closed in the last 3 years, as has the art shop in the county town - 9on the other hand WH Smiths are everywhere - and this was not an especially large branch

A well known retailer in Liverpool have on offer the Bachmann 32-386 Class 37 514 in RF Triple Grey Metals Sub-sector for £52. Bachmann show this one as stock exhausted, so assume they might have bought up the remaining stocks?

Plus MDR are selling Bachmann 32-387 Class 37 506 in RF redstripe for £55.95 - on offer until the end of November.

Just received my first Bachmann Deltic (the slippery slope begins...) for £63.50 and DCC Fitted quite frankly it was a steal as was the red stripe Railfreight 37/5 for under fifty notes, both from Rails of Sheffield.

It is. But if that's beyond your budget Alton Model Centre have the ex-Mainline version for twenty five quid.

They're also knocking out Replica end-of-line MkIs for under £15 a piece. Plus sundry P.O wagons, to which I paid little heed.

No connection other than I harvested my required allocation of maroon BGs from them on line this week, which arrived within 36 hours, and fitted with the rather good metal wheelsets that the last Replica coaches received.

A Homebase branch in Edinburgh had 1.25L tins of dark browm matt emulsion (Sanctuary range, Assam shade) for £4.00 - marked as discontinued stock, so maybe also other branches? Proper price About £13. Just the job for scenic base!

Cheers,

In the Latest issue of Model Rail (no.177 January 2013) The Signal Box of Rochester have 32736 Bachmann Colas Class 66 marked as £59.50.

I gave them a call as I know this isn't due till Feb/Mar and they said that's their current pre-order price on the system. It sounds like someone has made a mistake somewhere along the line (no pun intended) but I've managed to place a pre-order for it.
