bennyboy
Rails of Sheffield seem to having a bit of a Farish clearance as they are selling off a lot of their DMUs and diesels cheaply such as 101's or 47's for only £65 and there's a few steamers going cheap as well. Ravenser
For those who like cardboard and brickpaper construction - WH Smiths are selling a sketching set in a small tin, which contains a couple of reddish pastel pencils marked sepia and light sepia (reddish - should be suitable for working over brickpaper) a brownish pastel stick, a carbon pastel stick, a putty eraser and a couple of charcoal pencils for £12 Not sure if this is exactly a bargain, but many of these items are useful for modelling and may be relatively hard to source otherwise. Both my local stockists of Winsor & Newton and other art materials have closed in the last 3 years, as has the art shop in the county town - 9on the other hand WH Smiths are everywhere - and this was not an especially large branch

'CHARD
It is. But if that's beyond your budget Alton Model Centre have the ex-Mainline version for twenty five quid. They're also knocking out Replica end-of-line MkIs for under £15 a piece. Plus sundry P.O wagons, to which I paid little heed. No connection other than I harvested my required allocation of maroon BGs from them on line this week, which arrived within 36 hours, and fitted with the rather good metal wheelsets that the last Replica coaches received. Trainmaster!!
In the Latest issue of Model Rail (no.177 January 2013) The Signal Box of Rochester have 32736 Bachmann Colas Class 66 marked as £59.50. I gave them a call as I know this isn't due till Feb/Mar and they said that's their current pre-order price on the system. It sounds like someone has made a mistake somewhere along the line (no pun intended) but I've managed to place a pre-order for it.
