Class 144/143 Project Up-Date

As you all know the pre-production samples are with us, we are undertaking modifications to the model to make it somewhat better, additional rivits around the cab area and roof, modifications to the rear end and corridor connections, new more powerfull motor and various minor mods, to make it as good as we can. Progress has been a bit slower than planned due to us being 'pickey', we could have rushed it out for Christmas but we wanted it right, so sorry for delays.

The Livery work at our end is finished, just waiting for the little people of China to get the sample screens done, everything is looking good though!

 

As the 143 is being done at the same time this is also delayed, work has yet to start on the liveries.

 

On the next batch we are thinking of doing the 'Named' Class 144 144001 Penistone Line Partnership, HANDS UP, if you want one?

Great to see Realtrack & =C=Rail= get your own space on here! Will all the information in Smaller Suppliers be brought over?

 

I can not comment on would i like a 144 Penistone Line edition, but i do wonder how are plans developing on future 143s. We were asked for our thoughts on:

 

143-311 Wessex Trains 'Visit Bristol' livery (Bristol Zoo promotion)

143-312 Wessex Trains 'Visit Bristol' livery (SS Great Britain promotion)

143-313 Valley Lines 143 named 'Valley Kids'

143-314 Valley Lines 143 un-named.

143-315 Regional Railways liveried 143 with Valley Lines logo.(Not Tom Jones as we will have Sir Tom Jones in Arriva Trains Wales livery)

143-316 Regional Railways liveried 143818 named 'Mute Swan' for the Swan Line promotion (Cardiff-Swansea line)

143-317 Regional Railways liveried 143 un-named.

 

(crosses fingers for 143-312 SS Great Britain)

 

Of course, goes without saying i shall be placing an order for the first batch of 143s, either 143-213 or 143-214 First Great Western 'Local Lines' livery :)

Does this mean the end of rivet counters as the manufacturers will do it for us? Perhaps you could put a note on the instruction leaflet saying "this model contains X number of rivets - there is no need to count them yourself now" ;)

I would be interested in an original Valley lines model.

I think the way you are operating your company is superb. The way you keep every one informed asking for suggestions, really getting the modeller involved.

The 144 project is now finalised so work begins on the 143, Easter 2012 is looking a good starting point for 'over the counter' sales, word of warning.

The Northern twins are proving very popular so don't hang about of you might miss them, DON'T say I didn't warn you!

Just to clarify the stockist information:

 

We want to support our network of stockists and would like a few more in selected areas, we already have orders from certain ones with others promising orders. We are getting 600 Northern & 600 Metro Red/Silver of which nearly 300 of each are allocated to fixed/promised orders already, so if anyone misses out then thats it currently on these four models. We plan a further 'Northern' 144001 Penistone Line Partnership in the future along with some different liveries, we have no plans on the current four models to repeat them.

 

We can accept orders in the post, post dated cheques for 01/03/12 are required please, Credit Card info with Expiry dates after 01/05/12 are good too. The REALTRACK Online ordering will open after Christmas, probably late January as we are working on a NEW website to be launched in conjunction with the Online ordering.

 

The future during 2012/13 is:

 

The 144 as above.

The PCA Cement Wagon.

The 143 in Arriva Trains Wales & First Great Western.

The 144 in Northern as above (144001).

A 'ALL NEW' dmu.

A 'ALL NEW' Wagon.

Painted Samples of the Northern livery 144 has arrived, plus the working test sample which has been running for 72 hours without blowing up!

HI All

 

A couple of pics of the 144 with partial decoration as all the small detail has yet to be added.

 

We know the faults in this painting as it was done in a hurry just to see how things will look.overall and to look at the main colours.

Assuming we sell the 'TWO CAR' Class 144 then we plan:

 

We are open to suggestions, but we really need to sell the initial 2500 models in 2 X Versions of Northern & 2 x Versions of the later Metro Red & Silver waves livery. These liveries we are doing take us back over 4 versions/liveries. Any other liveies mean doing the earlier Bus Seats, these we are doing and our plans are for the second Metro/RR Red & Cream & Regional Railways liveries next, these specifically are:

 

2nd Metro Red & Cream with Arriva Branding (1 Numbered version)

2nd Metro Red & Cream with Regional Railways Branding (2 Numbered versions)

Regional Railways livery (2 Numbered versions)

 

The Class 143 Units have a different seating layout to the 144 Units, this we are doing; These are:

 

RT143-211 Arriva Trains Wales 143609 'Sir Tom Jones'

RT143-212 Arriva Trains Wales 143610

RT143-213 First Great Western 'Local Lines' livery 143611

RT143-214 First Great Western 'Local Lines' livery 143620

 

Later we plan Wessex Trains 'Visit Bristol Livery', Valley Lines & Regional Railways.

 

We have been asked for the original Provincial & Tyne & Wear Metro liveries but are uncertain if there is a demand for these, we need 300 orders to make them a goer! So please shout if interested.

 

A suggestion came for a Scottish Pair based on the Bathgate twins, destination blinds being Bathgate-Edinburgh, INTERESTED!!!

 

Please bear in mind we have to shift the original Northern & Metro batches first!!

Please someone buy these 2500 units, so that they can move on to something a little older in a more sensible colour scheme. I'm afraid a class 143/4 doesnt match a 1960 Staffordshire line !!!!
