RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 13, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 13, 2017 There is/was a model of the USS Nimitz available in 1/72 scale. No idea of the price but you'd need a lot of space as it works out at 17 feet long.
RMweb Premium Trainshed Terry Posted May 13, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 13, 2017 Anybody out there fancy a reel challenge at a kit. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trumpeter-06801-German-U-Boat-Plastic/dp/B01I8ZZ0M6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494689376&sr=8-1&keywords=trumpeter+1%2F48 Might be one for the "O" gauge modellers. The 1/200 Iowa I posted the photo of is longer than both of the layouts I've built so far I've also got a 1/200 scale HMS Hood and USS Hornet to build, going to need to longer shelves... stevejjjexcov
Great models Clarence. Are they scratch from plans or kits (though much improved) I made a wooden kit of a dog cart for my grandfather many years ago. Grain filling to take paint was a pain in the bum so I only built the one! Again great models, skilled building and a superb finish.

I would guess its either a Dennis or an early Bedford utility. All the best Steve The Refueller is a 1/48 scale kit by "Airfix". (AKA Hornby) The link below is to a well know auction site. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AIRFIX-ALBION-3-POINT-FUELLER-SCALE-1-48-BNIB-/371934326564?hash=item5699036f24:g:WoIAAOSwSzdXDOMy It is a Albion truck, but which one of the range it was I have no idea. But I am sure that someone out there could enlighten me. Terry.
stevejjjexcov
Thanks Terry the truck is an Albion AM463 the same as the 4x2 general service truck but with a fuel bowser. Steve
Guest CLARENCE
Hope you like 'em! David. PS Actually I didn't make the horses! Lovely models. Did you have to do the lettering yourself? In most cases the lettering was done on the computer, printed onto thin card and glued into place. Lining done by hand, as you can tell if you look closely! Cheers, David. stevejjjexcov
Steve1 how old are some of those kits? The old monogram box's look 60's are they collectable? They will be good as a base for detailing. Hours of fun for you there! Please post pics if you ever build them All the best Steve

60091
Arrived a couple of days ago. something to keep me busy for a few months! I'm no expert when it comes to AFVs but enjoy the change from railway modelling and warships. These are two recent builds - straight out of the box with a bit of scenery added to the Hanomag.

Guest CLARENCE
Great models Clarence. Are they scratch from plans or kits (though much improved) I made a wooden kit of a dog cart for my grandfather many years ago. Grain filling to take paint was a pain in the bum so I only built the one! Again great models, skilled building and a superb finish. Thanks very much for your interest, I'm quite flattered! In the main, the models were scratch built using full size plans (simplified somewhat!). The main bodywork from different thicknesses of plywood and oddments of brass strip and rod. The wheels were the most difficult. To make them exactly as the real thing would have taken weeks, so I worked out a much simpler method using ply rim and dowel spokes- the hubs needed to be turned, though, no way around that. In the main, I used car paint cans for the final finish. Cheers, David. A couple more pics; Unpainted model, gives some idea of the construction. A totter's cart, again unpainted And a Showmans living van; this comes out at about a foot long in 1/12 scale Edited May 15, 2017 by CLARENCE
