50033
Good Morning I have not been over active recently due to a recent arrival within the family. Now he's 6 months old and the eldest is back to school, I have a little more time. To ease myself back I have been considering an N gauge layout. I'm thinking of modelling Tilehurst in current form and to help me work out rough size I was wondering how long is a full rake HST in N. RWJP
By my maths, a 2+8 HST will be 62 inches long, give or take about an inch. That is including coupling gaps, which add a fair bit of length to the set. I worked on the basis of a powercar being 5 inches from nose to end of coupling, and Mk3s being 6.5inches from edge of coupler to edge of coupler). Basically, if you want an HST length platform, about 5 feet will be right. Ross
50033
Thanks for your replies. A bit more than I was expecting but food for thought. May need to rethink a few things. Mark
