Living in Surrey and Kent (Greater London), I had little experience of Eastern National until as a student I went to live in Hornsey. Always seemed strange to have those Eastern National buses at Wood Green.

The 247 might have featured earlier in my life. I wanted to circumnavigate London on a Green Rover ticket. But there was a gap in the network in the Romford - Brentwood area which one could do with the 247. In the event, I did not make it far enough for it to matter.

I used to see these going through Romford Market before it was by-passed by the ring road.
