justin1985
I've seen a few references to the Farish 03 having been released at the N Gauge Show, but no one seems to have commented on it or posted any pictures on here? Did anyone manage to pick one up? I've been eagerly awaiting the BR Blue version ... Cheers Justin
PLD
There were samples in the display case, but I don't believe there were any on sale.
Pixie
I've got a feeling a small selection amount of the green with wasp stripes have been and gone - some appeared on Ebay and a small amount appeared on Hattons. There's a few photos on Hattons here: http://www.ehattons.....aspx?SID=32939. Looks nice! Pix
mercig studios
Only the Green ones were available at the N Gauge show....there are a number of retailers that have it in stock such as Kernow: http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/product/30107/371061_Graham_Farish_Class_03_Diesel_Shunter_number_D2388 M
justin1985
Thanks for clarifying! That mesh behind the footsteps looks particularly good! Really looking forward to the blue one now ...
2mm Andy
I bought one of the green-liveried type (with wasp stripes) today from Monk Bar Model Shop in York. The chap in the shop told me they'd had a small batch in last week and sold them all, then one more arrived yesterday, which was the one I got! I'm rather impressed with it. Pixie
That's looking really nice Andy - new set of handrails, Chris Higgs chassis and some weathering should really make it something nice. Pix

Pix That's the plan, although it does seem a shame to start pulling it apart - it's too cute!
Dr Al
That's the plan, although it does seem a shame to start pulling it apart - it's too cute! Does that mean you'll not be using the chassis.... If you have it spare then can I be so bold as to ask if you could let me know if you'd be willng to part with it - precisely what I need for an 07 build.... Thanks, Alan

Should be at least one from this corner Alan - assuming Andy doesn't offload his first! Pix
Dr Al
Should be at least one from this corner Alan - assuming Andy doesn't offload his first! Pix Thanks Pix, I had intended to use an 04, but with the release of the 03 it's a better choice as the wheels are closer to those of the 07. You can let me know Cheers, Alan
2mm Andy
Sorry for the delay replying Alan. The chassis should be available if you want it. I'd quite like to hang on until the 2mm etched chassis is available though - just in case! I've been told that they'll hopefully be ready before Christmas. Dr Al
Thanks folks. For your interest this is what I plan to mount on an 03 chassis when one becomes available. Still needs some cleaning up, the middle steps adding and a few small tweaks, but getting there! Cheers, Alan
millerhillboy
Nice work there Alan, who makes that kit then? Looks quite Worsley-esque?
Clay Country
Just had an email from Hattons saying my card has been charged for the blue model, so it looks like these have hit the shops.

Dave777
Just had an email from Hattons saying my card has been charged for the blue model, so it looks like these have hit the shops. Oooh yes, just checked after you said that and same here. Bit irritating that Hattons only sent me something else on backorder 4 days ago (which means another postal charge for the 03) but good to have it finally here. I've had the match truck waiting for a few months

PLD
The 04 has solder tags for hardwiring a chip but no 'plug & play' socket. I havent had an 03 appart yet but assume it is the same...

Dave777
It's arrived. Some paintwork blemishes here and there, but nothing that won't get hidden under some weathering. One of the coupling rods seems very close to the mesh behind the steps - it moves freely but I think it might be rubbing against it. But other than that - superb! No issues with fit and finish elsewhere, glazing is clear, all parts seem solid, and some of the handrail and pipework is very fine indeed. Will probably get beaten to pictures as it'll be Saturday before I'll be able to try it out and photograph.
Clay Country
Mine arrived today, but as it's a Christmas present I'm not allowed to take it out of the box It's got me thinking about a Birkenhead, Ipswich or Boston-inspired micro though... eastwestdivide
... It's got me thinking about a Birkenhead, Ipswich or Boston-inspired micro though... Do you think a level crossing, 03, match wagon and BOC tanker would be micro enough? Ipswich 1984:
Clay Country
Yep, that's the sort of thing I'm after! Thanks for sharing the pic.
BernardTPM
You can use Grainflows at Ipswich too. Used to be an interesting little freight outpost.
