RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted October 2, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 2, 2011 Link to original thread here. This is supposed to represent the activity just before the opening of an exhibition. Built to a nominal scale of 1:6, it uses 2mm track & rolling stock, and a 12" high figure. The scene modelled is of one of the fiddle yards and the first scenic board, showing a wayside halt of a single line. The rest of the layout is still in the van... This diorama was a real learning curve for me - I'd not modelled anything in this scale before and I'd never done any serious scenic (i.e. green) stuff. 2mm (or 2FS) is something I will return to in the future. Thanks to everyone who commented on the build thread.
woodenhead
If all railway modellers came with the physique of Action Man we might have less negative media and be able to use the phrase "I'm a railway modeller" as a successful chat up line.
