7APT7
Hi mate Love you PWA UKF Vans... they look brilliant as a rake... Do you know what year or Era they would fall in to... mid 1980's into 90s of later... I have several of them and look excellent... Jamie

Fat Controller
Depends on the livery, 60's onwards. Mike. They stayed in service until the beginning of the 1990s, I believe; towards the end, services would include increasing numbers of OCA wagons, as farmers moved from 1 cwt sacks to 1 tonne 'big bags'. These were normally top-lifted, and so incompatible with the intermediate floor of the PWAs.
ChrisB
Thought I'd post it on here rather than send a PM as there appears to be a bit of interest in these again lately. Jon, do you have any more of the bogie etches? I could use 3 of them and perhaps an underframe to have a play with too. Thanks
jonhall
I have a small number of Lee Davies' bogies, but I am only selling them with my underfame etches (which can be had on their own). I believe Lee has a small stock but he ins't a regular on here, you could try a PM through the DEMU forum if you are a member. Underframe etch (1 wagon) £2.50 Underframe etch plus bogie etch £6.00 both plus postage at cost - send me a pm if interested, but I am railtouring in Holland for a few days so may not reply until Tuesday, Jon
RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted November 10, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2014 Finally got round to having a dabble with theses wagons, so far, carved off the incorrect end detail, (suitable only for the later longer wagons), and detailed up the headstock and side piece. Who does 2' 9" disc wheels, I'm hoping/assuming there is a HO equivalent which will fit on a 2mm standard axle. TIA. Mike.
RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted November 12, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 12, 2014 Current state of play; Thanks in no particular order to Jon Hall, Paul Bartlett and P & H models. This is an experimental bodge job, the wagon coming with varying bits of damage, hence some of the gaps here and there, it's more of a proving the theory exercise. Outstanding tasks are designing etches to replace the plastic bits, (no doubt a better fit), and sourcing the bogies, further nudging towards Mid Wales area required. Any further pointers much appreciated. Mike.

Satan's Goldfish
Is the Lima 'Fisons' livery purely imaginary? Got a rake of 4, but never seen an image of a prototype.

jonhall
I like this photo which presumably shows a van being used as a barrier for the tank behind. https://www.flickr.com/photos/96836395@N05/27650141399/in/pool-1417930@N25/ Jon
RMweb Premium Northmoor Posted January 24, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 24, 2018 Yes 'fraid so - total fiction. Jon Sad but true. I will be overlooking it on my own set of four; not really forgivable when I remember the real UKF vans at Carmarthen. Lima also did a Neill & Brown (?) liveried version which was genuine, but I believe the real examples were curtain-sided.
RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted January 24, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 24, 2018 Proper bogies now available for those of a compensated persuasion. http://www.stensonmodels.co.uk/product/bogie-4mm-gloucester-fastfreight-cc04b/ All other works of fiction can safely be consigned to the bin! jonhall
Why are the interesting wagons always hidden behind a signal or at the end of the train https://www.flickr.com/photos/lickeybanker/40156285781/in/pool-1417930@N25/ which I think shows 2 flat-tops and the gullwing in the same train. Grampus
Gracious - didn't realise that the flat tops survived that long - never did see one. When did they finally disappear? Best wishes, Paul

lyneux
Mike, did you get any further with yours? Your photos are very helpful (by the way). I've got a short rake of two to one the workbench for Oldshaw. Have started on the Stenson Models bogies.
