Undoubted highlight was when 55002, 55019 and D9009 all fired up, to be joined shortly afterwards by D9016 and 55022 all revving up at once - MY LORDZ!!!! Difficult to explain to a 'civilian' the effect certain sounds (& smells!) can have on a person, but standing in the midst of FIVE Deltics all giving it some was truly a joy - that's what I call surround sound! Totally understand the sentiment about being surrounded by running Napiers which is why I'm looking forward to being present for the 19:25 Bury departure on Saturday, hauled by (according to the DPS) D9009, D9016, 55002, 55019 and 55022.
