At home I use a magnifier lamp combined but being in the motorhome at the moment I had bought anold magnifying glass on a stand but found it difficult. For normal reading I use 2x manification glasses I can buy these in the pound shop which means I can lose them, sit on them etc. I nipped in the other day and bought a 3.5x pair too powerful for normal use but very helpful for 2mm trackwork. You may find a 1.5x or 2x pair useful for modelling in 2mm but don't leave them on or you may get too used to them. I often drop mine down my nose a bit so I can peer over the top when I look up.
