Del
Any RMWebbers popping along to this one? I've missed the last two due to work but fully intend going this year, especially as both East Lynn and Hoath Hill Halt are in attendance.http://www.ehmrc.org.uk/exhibs.html
chrisf
I am hoping to attend but would have found the original venue of East Ham Town Hall much easier to reach by public transport! If I have read the TfL website correctly there is no convenient bus or even an inconvenient one so it looks like C2C to Dagenham Dock and then hike. Chris EDIT - having now read the external link it seems that I can't read a map and was therefore mistaken about the lackage of buses. One less battle with the M25! 67195
This is shaping up to be an excellent exhibition and it's only the third year that it's been run, on both the previous occasions there were some great layouts a good selection of specialist traders. This year there seems to be some extra traders and some brilliant layouts East Lynn being a real personal favourite, if you've only seen it in the articles in MRJ then you must get along to see it in the flesh as it is truly exceptional, the other layouts that I've seen are also of a very high standard so I'll definitely be there! 67195

HerbertHopkins
This should be a really excellent show if it's up to last years standard (I'm sure it will be!). I'll be there on both days as I've been roped in to help operate one of the layouts. Looking forward to it.
andytrains
Herbert, see you there, I did not know you were operating! This will be the best show in East London/West Essex this year, no doubt. Look forward to seeing you all there.
HerbertHopkins
Herbert, see you there, I did not know you were operating! When I say operating, I mean swearing at things when they derail! See you bright and early Saturday morning.
Decapod
The Scalefour Society stand will be at the show this weekend, manned by Mike Ainsworth and Bob Bourne. If you're visiting the East London Finescale Exhibition, whether you're a Scalefour Society member or not, please do stop at the stand have a look and say hello. If you're not a member and you'd like to join us, you can do so at the show, where Mike and Bob will be happy to enroll you. It's especially good value to join us at an exhibition where, as we save on the postage, you'll get an extra pack of backnumbers of our excellent journal 'Scalefour News'. All the Best Danny http://www.scalefour.org And now you can also follow us on Facebook

RMweb Premium Nile Posted November 5, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 5, 2011 An excellent show with lots of top quality layouts and some interesting trade, particularly the 3d printing company that brought its printer along. It seemed busier than last year, which is a good sign.I can recommend this to anyone considering a visit tomorrow.
Burkitt
A very good show, not a huge number of layouts but each of them well chosen. Here are a few photos, video will follow later. East Lynn Dartley Hoath Hill Halt Hadley Green Framsden Wickham Bishops Copenhagen Fields - ELF was an excellent opportunity to have a good long close look at The Model Railway Club's masterpiece without the five deep crowds which are usually to be found in front of it. HarryP
What a brilliant exhibition. My first visit, and i'd like to thank the organisers. A range of scales on show, all with outstanding layouts. I shall definitely look out for next year's show. The Nunstanton layout was sublime, such a great collection of GER locomotives, i didn't want to leave.
HerbertHopkins
Just about to set off for another days hard exhibiting. Really excellent show, well worth a visit. Steve, one of the organisers, was telling me that numbers are well up on last year which is a good sign. Looking forward to seeing lots more faces today. chrisf
I felt that my visit was worthwhile. The new venue [also used last year, I believe, but I was unable to attend] is an improvement on East Ham Town Hall in terms of space and amenities but not in terms of location. Public transport worked for me yesterday despite the District Line being in bits again but if you know you are going to buy loads of stuff it is a good idea to take the car. A carefully chosen set of traders was complemented by a catholic choice of layouts. It was good to see Hadley Green again after, I understand, three years off the circuit and the latest bit of Copenhagen Fields was new to me. Burkitt has done an excellent job in capturing the essence of the layouts with his camera. Above all it was good to see the venue well filled for most of the day. Attendance two years ago was sparse to say the least but the organisers have persisted and I'm glad they did. Chris
Timara
Really glad I paid a visit yesterday. The venue is rather good and it was a pleasure to be able to walk/stand on a carpeted floor for a change at a show. As an exhibitor, I can tell you that one's feet usually end up wanting to give up the ghost after a few hours! No real favourites at the show as they were all good in their own little ways . I'd not seen East Lynn before, so it was a pleasure to view it at last. Cheers,
PenrithBeacon
I went today and had a really good time, an excellent exhibition. I went last year as well and think that the new venue is a vast improvement over the East Ham Townhall. I can't comment much on the transport arrangements for the CEME because I went by car, but I have to say that the public transport to East Ham was awful, the bus station at Stratford being a right Fred Carno's. My thanks to everybody who worked so hard at putting this exhibition on. Regards
Burkitt
As promised, a video of some of the layouts at ELF on Saturday. Paul
Western Stalwart
Thanks for posting the pics and video Paul. Had to make my mind wether to go to Wycrail or the East London show and chose Wycrail as it was easier to get to. Will make sure I go next year. regards, Mark
