Hi, Jonny777. Thank you, a pleasure to help. The oval mirrors are indeed a Gresley/Thompson thing. I hope that the coaches will turn out well for you.

All the best,

Market65.

Are Dapol still making these kits?
Hattons used to stock loads of them, can't see any now.

I think it's a case of supply problems. Possibly caused by the local lockdown.

Some of the plastic kits haven't been in stock for a few months either and I think both are made in the UK.

I think I saw some of these in Porthmadog Models a couple of weeks ago, but can’t be 100% sure as not something I was looking for.
I don’t think they have an online presence unfortunately.

It's not that I am after buying any from elsewhere, it's that I was noticing they were becoming scarce and I had seen nothing to say they were being discontinued. I have a small stock (9) of them left but I thought they would be something that would have always been available.
For under £10 in the local hobby shop they were a good buy.

Just had a message back from Dapol, they have been discontinued.

Odd, they must have been a good seller as I can't find anywhere with stocks of them.

Thats very  disappointing if true. There were great little kits, and made up into quite decent coaches. BR liveried examples seem particularly rare, and I need a couple more at least.

Pity if they are discontinued, I will not be able to do so many cut and shuts.

Here are few under transformation.

More cut and shut than Arfur Daley's forecourt!

They are/were also damn good for using with Comet/ Bedford sides too. Dirt cheap coaches not available RTR with just a bit of cutting, some glue and some  alterations to ends (maybe), Roof and UF details.

Agreed.  Dapol Stanier coaches are the basis for this NIR Class 70 DEMU with Worsley Works etched sides applied.

I have a box full of these coaches for use in future NI multiple unit projects.

Cheers

It would seem obvious to provide Old Bushmills Whiskey on board River Bush but, sadly, what is obvious to one person is not always obvious to another.

I doesnt show stock levels on the website, so I would be wary until it is confirmed they are in stock.

Correct.. they have contacted me this morning; not good to leave things available but hey, we are all busy bees.
