Hi

I have built the Genesis kits KFA Warflat. I found it quite easy to assemble using solder for the main components and superglue for the minor bits. I would say its one of the easier to assemble Genesis kits.

Hopefully the photo of it is attached.

I didn't have much luck with Cromwell Models, but I found S&S Models, http://sandsmodelsshop.com/product/cvrt-sultan-command/and have ordered a Sultan from them. I haven't seen it yet so I can't say how good the kit is. GRA Models, www.gramodels.co.uk do a very nice resin FV432 while Revell make an excellent Warrior if you fancy poulating some Warwells.

In the 1980s I had to go to Folkeston East and secure the chains on a number of the newer WARFLATS.  Not sure what vehicles had been delivered.

The chains were laid across the deck and secured by nails bent over.  What a job, the wood was like hard rubber....

No pictures though, shame.

I built a few Warflats and a couple of Warwells a few years ago using resin Warflat bodies found on eBay and Wild Boar Fell’s 3D printed Warwells.

The Warrior is RTR by EasyModel with a scratch built cradle.  The other AFVs are resin models from SandS Models who, I am happy to confirm (after my initial erroneous post), are still in business.

Cheers

I wonder if anyone ever found RTR models of Ramp Warflats like these in Paul Bartlett's pics?

MOTA 95000 and 95004 PXP

The links take you to Paul's site but no pics show. If the ramp wagons are the ones I'm thinking of (four wheels with a removable axle) they are not used for carrying anything and are just to enable the vehicles to drive off of the train if there are no facilities such as loading banks.

Oh dear. Might be your browser?

I believe there's still one in Haverfordwest yard; it still appears to be there in the 2021-dated photo on Google.

To update on this:-

Last week, Alan Border published some views of the Haverfordwest ramp wagon on the 'Railways in South Wales' Facebook pages. From these, it turns out that the wagon in Pembrokeshire was not one of the British-registered wagons, but a German-registered wagon of similar conception, but different design.

I can't believe it's almost 10 years ago that I started this thread...

Well, my idea of gathering a few wagons to form a decent MOD train certainly took a dramatic turn...
