G-Mac
Falkirk MRC will be showing their new 28ft exhibition layout “Grangemouth” at the show for the first time. If you’re in Central Scotland next weekend why not come along and see 20 quality layouts along with a large trade and society support. Any questions that you have do not hesitate to ask here. Hope to see you there.
Brush47337
I will be there again on the Saturday with my pal John. Nearly went to Warley this year But decided it just had to be Falkirk - the following weekend instead are the organisers planning 2 feet of snow again this year - that was fun! G-Mac
Hopefully not, fingers crossed the weather will be fine over the weekend.
Guest 40-something
I'll be there on Annan Road, East Kilbride MRC's 4mm layout based on Dumfries shed in the 50/60's, fingers crossed the snow stays away!
RMweb Premium Craig Watson Posted November 24, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 24, 2011 I'll be there all weekend too, either on my big G scale set up on the stage or on my Park Road TMD layout which is attending on behalf of Bonnybridge MRC. See you there! Cheers Craig
RMweb Premium Legend Posted November 24, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 24, 2011 Will be there. No snow this year..................................................just gale force winds!

RMweb Gold barney121e Posted November 24, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 24, 2011 What is parking like at the venue, will be coming on the Saturday?
Jamie
You should be OK. I've (mis)timed a couple of visits to coincide with the fitba up the road, and even then found a space nearby with no problems.
RMweb Premium Legend Posted November 24, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 24, 2011 Yes its a fairly large carpark being a College Campus. You should be OK. Was looking forward to going by train on Sat but its a fair wee walk and if it is howling gales and horizontal rain I may well opt for the car on Sunday. It'll be worth the effort
Jim49
Will be going on Sunday morning along with 3 friends (Yes I do have as many as that) Even if Falkirk's version of the Glorious Game is being played on Sunday, we should beat any parking difficulties. RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted November 26, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 26, 2011 Hi all, Looks like the snow will hold off this year! Just had an update to cover central region that says 'Cold but with no likelihood of snow over the weekend'. Having said that - Midlothian council sent out the gritters at tea time.... millerhillboy
Managed to get up to this show today for a couple of hours around about lunch time, seemed to be very well attended from what I could see. Both main halls getting a spread of the visitors. I always enjoy this local show and there was plenty to enjoy here today. Favourite for me was Annan Road, every layout I've ever seen from EKMRC is always top drawer and this is no exception. Had seen it before but can't tire of modelling and atmosphere like that. One other thing I was really glad to see was that the Squires stand was going like madfire, to the point where I couldn't get near at various points. The chap seemed overwhelmed and was continuously apologising for serving people out of sequence, but I really hope it was a good show for him and they stay around. DEMU guys looked to making good progress with their trackwork as well.
Brush47337
Great show - had a fine long afternoon here today Thought the quality of layouts was strong and most had solid activity to view (I don't like beautiful layouts where nothing moves) Thought trade support was much better than last year (maybe the snow kept them away) skint - so didn't buy anything although very tempted. By good and big thanks to club and all organisers I loved Park road and the new wee Scottish one based on west highlands through in hall 2 Stuart

My serious modelling side always takes a back seat at Falkirk, this year being my 9th year with my G scale set up on the stage, great fun for a couple of days although it all has to come down again tomorrow!!
