Falkirk MRC will be showing their new 28ft exhibition layout “Grangemouth” at the show for the first time. If you’re in Central Scotland next weekend why not come along and see 20 quality layouts along with a large trade and society support. Any questions that you have do not hesitate to ask here. Hope to see you there.

Guest 40-something

I'll be there on Annan Road, East Kilbride MRC's 4mm layout based on Dumfries shed in the 50/60's, fingers crossed the snow stays away!

Yes its a fairly large carpark being a College Campus. You should be OK. Was looking forward to going by train on Sat but its a fair wee walk and if it is howling gales and horizontal rain I may well opt for the car on Sunday. It'll be worth the effort

Will be going on Sunday morning along with 3 friends (Yes I do have as many as that)

Even if Falkirk's version of the Glorious Game is being played on Sunday, we should beat any parking difficulties.

Managed to get up to this show today for a couple of hours around about lunch time, seemed to be very well attended from what I could see. Both main halls getting a spread of the visitors.

I always enjoy this local show and there was plenty to enjoy here today.

Favourite for me was Annan Road, every layout I've ever seen from EKMRC is always top drawer and this is no exception. Had seen it before but can't tire of modelling and atmosphere like that.

One other thing I was really glad to see was that the Squires stand was going like madfire, to the point where I couldn't get near at various points. The chap seemed overwhelmed and was continuously apologising for serving people out of sequence, but I really hope it was a good show for him and they stay around.

DEMU guys looked to making good progress with their trackwork as well.

Great show - had a fine long afternoon here today

Thought the quality of layouts was strong and most had solid activity to view (I don't like beautiful layouts where nothing moves)

Thought trade support was much better than last year (maybe the snow kept them away) skint - so didn't buy anything although very tempted.

By good and big thanks to club and all organisers

I loved Park road and the new wee Scottish one based on west highlands through in hall 2

Thanks for the comment on Park Road, I'm glad its finally made it to Falkirk and a big thanks to the guys who came along from my club (Bonnybridge) as the layout is appearing under their banner.

My serious modelling side always takes a back seat at Falkirk, this year being my 9th year with my G scale set up on the stage, great fun for a couple of days although it all has to come down again tomorrow!!

Cheers

Craig
