I’ve begun the task of dismantling the layout in the loft at Mum’s after Dad died in August.

finding all sorts that i didn’t know Dad had bought and re-finding some of my stuff that I’ve not seen for ages.

look out for the upcoming stock clearance

I really need a peak for my Speedlink services.

what are the best options?

For Speedlink workings class 45/0 is what you should probably be looking for.

On the WR they regularly worked the Severn Tunnel Junction to St Blazey services,

and also sometimes appeared on STJ to Eastleigh workings. They also worked the overnight Speedlink inter-regional workings onto the WR at STJ, and could be seen on local freight trip working in the Bristol area.

Were any allocated to Bristol?

I don't think there were Peaks allocated to Bristol in the Speedlink era.

Bath Road had an allocation of class 46 locos in the 1970s, but I think they had been transferred away before the Speedlink Network, which was launched in September 1977. The Laira allocation of class 46s lasted until late in 1980 when the survivors were transferred to Gateshead.

Class 46s did obviously work Speedlink traffic on the WR, but the  class 45s lasted longer and were more common on Speedlink.

I like the look of the new Kernow IZA Cargo Wagon.

it just falls in my time range of 1987 but not sure it works for freight flows in my area.

Invoke Rule 1 ?

Diversions from other lines where Network Rail Railtrack are working.

Alternately, the driver took a wrong turn at Reading...   :scare::jester:

Where have all the pictures gone?

Crass question, I know, but which pictures?

[I guess that if I ask the question, then I can't see them either]

If it helps, I can see your Cavalex Flats.

Wow!

A year since I last did anything.

now it’s warm in the garage I can attempt to tidy up and make some space, easier said than done when the  local tip is shut.

it's all got to go due to downsizing and no garage at the proposed new place :(
