Having read the instructions that are with the kit I have changed some of the build to the way i like to build coach

The instructions say to fit the drop lights once to body is a box but i like to fit them when the sides are still flat the same does for the door fittings

to hold the droplight in place i use a wooen clothes peg

I have lots of peg which i have modified for doing different jobs

1st thing i did after lunch was to fit the grab & door handels to the other side

i then built up the 2 sides & ends to form a box with 2 open sides followed by building up the underframe then fitted the steps in to the ends

I then solded the underframe in to the body followed by rolling & folding the duckits once solded i swopt to low melt solder to solder the duckits to the body

I forgot to take photos of this work but after i have had my evening meal & the coach is dry from having a good wash to remove any left over flux i will take some photos of the work so far

Interesting build. Though I can't say I like the teak effect (or any teak effect on anything for that matter). That error in the etches on the ducket is pretty disastrous for the kit and really should have been spotted at the test etch. Even going to the length of supplying additional parts. If you don't happen to have a substitute, as most folk wouldn't, then it is end of build.

in the end i was sent replacements from the kit maker & the Error on the etch has been put right

Ah, that is very reassuring to know. I was trying to spot the white metal replacement in your photos. Still think it looks a good model though can't think of why I would need one.

these are so cool :)

how do you get the teak finish?

the way i do it is paint on the light coat In this cass Phoenix Precision P995 teak base coat ( you could use any cream paint followed once dry with P996 weathered teak (but you could use any brown to give yoy the colour you want) I thin the P996 down( but only what is on the brush) i then use a stiff brush twisting it as i put on the paint & going back over till i get the effet i want I have tryed to do it with acrylic paint but i can not get it to work so I use Enamel paint & white spirit to thin the top coat once dryed for 48 hours it will get a coat of varnish

have a play its not has hard as you think
